How To Reduce Acne — Home Remedies

Every wants a flawless silky textured, spotless, acne-less, well-hydrated, and glowing skin. Also, we say that beauty is skin deep. The secret lies in incorporating few caring steps in our daily habit to ensure years of clear and supple skin. I am going to describe how to reduce acne through home remedies.

What Causes Acne

Acne or pimple is a kind of skin disease which forms due to blocked pores filled with sebum. Our oil glands produce an oily liquid known as sebum and this sebum comes to the surface from pores of the skin which is hair follicle. When these pores are blocked and bacteria manifest upon them, these causes pimples. Mainly pimples start appearing in puberty when our sebaceous glands become active and can appear on face, chest, neck, back, and shoulders. Few of them are painful, releases pus, and leaves scar.

What Food Causes Acne

It is known that what we eat, it shows on our face. So, getting a list of food that causes acne is must for those who are disturb with constant acne and the list is as follows:

1. Any kind of oily, fried, or spicy foods.

2. Chocolate or high–fat containing dairy products like cheese, butter, cream.

3. Fast food like burger, French fries.

4. Foods which cause gas, bloating or constipation in you and you are the best judge which food those are. For example, refined floor causes constipation.

So try to avoid the above foods when you are trying to control pimples.

How To Avoid Pimples Or Acne?

The first and foremost basic thing about pimple is bacteria multiply on the oil produced by our gland and on a moist face and results in pimples, so always keep your face clean with the help of clean medicated or non-medicated tissue papers.

a) Neem is herbal tree found in the Indian subcontinent and what I have personally tried and found it to be the best amongst home remedies for treating pimples. Take a few Neem leaves, ground them well and mix them with turmeric powder and a few drops of water and apply over the affected acne area for an hour and wash it off. Do it for a month to get rid of the acne and get a clear skin. Alternatively you can get Neem oil in the internet and apply them over pimples.

b) When my cousin sister was about to get married she was so much worried about pimples and this is the tip for how to stop acne through which she got her pimples vanished in just 30 days. The beautician asked her to apply a pasted consisted of grounded cloves, fullers earth, and chilled water over the acne twice a day for an hour and then wash it off. To make the paste take 4 grounded cloves, one tablespoon of fullers earth, and four tablespoon of water. It took just 4 weeks for the skin pimples were gone.

c) Clove oil is another very easy to use method for getting rid of pimples. One should never use concentrate clove oil as it can burn the skin. So, always dilute your clove oil with other ingredients such as grape seed oil, almond oil, or olive oil. Apply this diluted oil over the acne area every four hours for a month to reduce pimples completely to get a beautiful glowing skin.

d) For how to reduce pimples completely, make a paste of 1-inch cinnamon stick powder (dalchini) and one tablespoon of honey and apply it overnight over your pimples. Wash the paste off with lukewarm water in the morning and repeat this till pimple lasts. It will take two to three weeks before your get a smooth skin.

e) Make jaiphal or nutmeg paste by mixing it with raw milk and apply it on your face, leave it there for two hour, and then wash it off. To make the paste, take four nutmeg pulp and four tablespoon of raw milk. Mix them well till it turn into a thick paste and then apply. It is one of the ways to make a face mask to reduce pimples.

f) Oranges are in plenty in the winter season. Eat oranges and dry their peels as these peels contain properties which limit the growth of acne and give us smooth skin. Now the ways to make a face mask is ground the dried orange peels and keep the powder in am airtight container. Take two tablespoon of these grounded peels and mix them with icy water and apply over your face and leave it for an hour and then wash it off. Repeat this procedure daily for a month and it will not only reduce pimple growth but also a very good facemask as an answer to how to get glowing skin.

g) Tea tree oil contains antibacterial properties which kills the bacteria causing the acne, but it again should not be used directly but first be diluted with other oil like grape seed oil, almond oil, or olive oil and then applied over the acne area every four hours for a month to get rid of the acne.

h) Dab the area of acne with 1:1 diluted lemon juice with water, i.e., 1 tablespoon of lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of icy water. Now, leave it there for an hour and wash it off with normal water. Do it till your acne last. Lemon juice not only reduces pimples but also blackheads and helps decrease sunburn also.

i) Lavender oil is very good in smoothing our skin by reducing pimples and removing scar by tissue generation. Always dilute lavender oil in the ratio of 1:10, mix one drop of lavender oil in 10 drops of olive or almond oil and then apply to the acne area and do this for a month or two.

j) Squeeze a few mint leaves juice and apply over the pimples overnight and it will stop acne from reappearing in a week or two.

k) Make a paste of a tablespoon of fenugreek seeds (methi dana) in water and apply them for 15 to 20 minutes before going to bed and wash them off. Do this for two weeks. This is for how to prevent acne from reappearing.

l) The thing which I do is lemon juice mixed with rose water in a 1:1 ratio, apply it over the acne affected area, and wash it after 20 minutes. Your will surely see it to stop acne from reappearing.

m) Tomato is a household ingredient. So take the tomato pulp and rub it in circular motion over your face and leave it for half an hour and wash it off.

I wish all those who wants to stop acne and get treated that the home remedies will certainly help at the comfort of your home listed in this article how to reduce acne — home remedies.

This hub intrigued me because certain members of my family have struggled with this for years. They've used every kind of over the counter drug there is to stop it. I especially liked the cinnamon stick and honey solution. That's very easy to find and use in the States. Voting this up and sharing! Good job Pinto.

Thanks vespawoolf for your comment. Here we use clove extensively and quite to stop acne, as it is quite cheap here and widely available whereas lavender oil is sparse.
