How do I improve my life? - Step 1
Knowing What You Want
This is the first step to improving your life. If you have no idea what you want out of life or what you want to do with your life, take your time trying to figure it out. Once you know what you want you can begin to improve your life. Think about it in terms of running. Someone says I feel like running (representing you saying I feel like improving my life) and he begins to run. After a while he begins to get tired and realize that it is pointless to run when you have nowhere to go, so he stops running. Now if another man decides to run and has a goal behind it (you knowing what you want) then he can push himself to reaching that goal and when he gets tired he will decide not to stop because of how badly he wants to reach that goal. The goal of step one in this six step process is to give yourself purpose.
Take your time making this goal, it is not something to be taken lightly. Something you can do involving this goal is think about what yo enjoy most in life and how you can get it. Granted, it should be something that will help you either now or in the future. If you choose to want to watch television for 48 hours straight you are going in the opposite direction of improving your life. As far as what you should decide, it should be the thing that is most beneficial to you and others (in order to maximize the amount of improvement it causes on your life). Once you make that decision you can move on to begin working at that decision and make it become a reality.
Where Do I Start?
A good place to start is... AT THE BEGINNING! Take the goal on one thing at a time and next thing you know it will be done! Try to waste as little time as possible. Every time you have a free moment work on succeeding at your goal and push it little by little until you finally cross the finish line! To start working at your goal think about what needs to be done before you complete the goal, then make a checklist of those things. Work at it one step at a time until your goal is finally met.
You can make a goal, a checklist, and say that you are going to improve your life, but none of that matters unless you actually take the initiative to do it! The key to doing this is holding yourself accountable for completing the goal. The best way to do this is through accountability partners, people that are constantly asking/telling you about your goal and making sure that you are making progress. Once you finally complete your goal you can make another one or start improving your life in other ways (more hubs coming soon).
