How to Boost your Self Esteem

Low self esteem can destroy your life, stifle your creativity and make it very difficult for you to achieve your goals. It can make your life miserable, and it can even affect your relationships with friends and family. Have you ever dreamed about that dream job, starting your own business, or living in that beautiful house on the hill somewhere nice? Does your self esteem stop you from making decisions? Does your low self esteem stop you from pushing yourself to the limit and making your dreams come true? If this is you, then it is time for you to pick yourself up and boost that self esteem. It can be difficult to look in the mirror every day and feel great about yourself but there are some tricks you could try to help boost your self esteem.

  • Groom Yourself

This is a very obvious one but, when you get up get dressed and do your hair and fix yourself up nice. You feel better about yourself, you instantly feel better and you change your physiology. This is something that Tony Robbins talks about, changing your physiology. When you feel low, boost yourself up by standing up straight, groom yourself, smile and make yourself feel better by forcing yourself. It might be difficult to do so in the beginning however, after a while you will begin to feel great about yourself on a daily basis.

Fake it

Even you feel like you are worthless and that you cannot ever achieve anything. If you look in the mirror and feel sick, and your self esteem is basically to the floor, just fake it. It might sound difficult but the more you do something the easier it becomes. In psychology they say that it takes three weeks to form a habit. If you do this every day for three weeks, it should become like breathing to do you. So look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are great, that you can achieve anything you put your mind to. Tell yourself that you are beautiful inside and out. Make yourself feel good, even if you do not feel good. Eventually you will feel good, give it a try.

Find a role Model

Like I said in the video, find someone who want to be like. A role model who might have experienced similar things to you. Look to them for guidance, you can find someone online, you do not have to know them personally. It could be a celebrity. Head on down to the library and look for some biographies of celebrities that you admire. Read about them and see how they managed to boost themselves when they felt low. Anything that you are experiencing other people would also experienced the same thing at some point. You are not alone, take inspiration from others, this works like a charm.

Exercise releases endorphines into the body which are known as the happy hormones. Exercise can make you feel high. It can make you feel like you are on top of the world. Go for a long walk. a bike ride, a jog. Do something, stay active every day and you will begin to feel a lot better about yourself.

Set yourself small goals

Set yourself small goals, achieve those goals and move on to bigger and better goals. Do not set yourself huge challenges and then feel low if you do not achieve those goals. Write down your small goals and tick them off as you achieve them.

Positive Thinking

It can be difficult to think positive at times however, if you do it often enough you will begin to do it without even thinking about it. Whenever you think of something negative, replace it with a positive thought.
