At age 16 I was a volunteer at a hospital bacteriology lab. I became a chemist for U.S. government. Then I studied health & related fields.

The Cause and Cure of Endometriosis

The way to cure a disease or health problem, like endometriosis, is by finding the cause. For example the number one cause of death in the United States is heart attacks. This is usually caused by plaque in the arteries that blocks the flow of blood in the heart. If it happens in the brain you have a stroke.

Endometriosis is a reproductive disorder that affects women, often times who are either under-diagnosed, inadequately treated, or unaware of the condition. Over 170 million women worldwide are affected by endometriosis… that’s a statistic even higher than that of breast cancer! About 10% of women of child-bearing age have endometriosis. It can be painful enough to cause some women to go on disability or commit suicide

If the cure for endometrioisis was a medicine (drug) or a supplement to take, it would be easy to take. But that is not the case with obesity, heart disease or endometriosis. You will need to change your lifestyle that is causing the problem, just like the above celebrities did. So it is important for you to understand what is going on for you to make the changes so your first step is to read this long article.

Wikipedia says:

Endometriosis is a gynecological medical condition in which cells from the lining of the uterus (endometrium) appear and flourish outside the uterine cavity, most commonly on the peritoneum which lines the abdominal cavity.

Symptoms often worsen with the menstrual cycle.

Endometriosis is typically seen during the reproductive years; it has been estimated that endometriosis occurs in roughly 6–10% of women. [Note how endometriosis is associated with menstruation and bleeding. Are they the same? Can you menstruate without bleeding?]

Please note that the standard medical disclaimer applies here and to all my articles-- The information on this site is not intended or implied to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Please note that instead of just telling you what I believe to be true, I will give you authoritative web pages of where the information is, which does take me a lot of extra time, but I feel that you are worth it.

Endometrioisis Fact Sheet [this webpage was either moved or taken down]. It says the following raises your chances of getting it:

Menstrual periods that last more than seven days

Short menstrual cycles (27 days or less)

It says that the following lowers your chances of getting it:

Exercise regularly

Keep a low amount of body fat

Avoid large amounts of alcohol

For what causes it, it includes:

New research shows a link between dioxin exposure and getting endometriosis. Dioxin is a toxic chemical from the making of pesticides and the burning of wastes. More research is needed to find out whether man-made chemicals cause endometriosis. [Food that is not organic contains pesticides.]

Stress makes endometriosis worse. So you can do things like yoga or meditation to help with the stress. Make sure to get enough sleep. Many Americans have a big problem with this.

The 2004 book Bottom Line's Prescription for Natural Cures by James F. Balch MD and Mark Stengler ND says about treating endometriosis:

It is important to eat certified organic foods as much as possible due to the estrogenic effects of pesticides, herbicides and hormone-laden meats.

Regularly consume beets, carrots, artichokes, dandelion greens, onion, and garlic, as these foods stimulate liver detoxification.

Once a day, have a green drink to support detoxification [this is talked about in previous paragraph].

Avoid red meat and dairy products, all of which contain high levels of dioxins that act as environmental estrogens.

Endometriosis Diet

This is the reason that recent Italian research showed that women with the highest consumption of dairy and meat products increased their risk of endometriosis by 80 to 100 percent, while those who ate a diet rich in fresh fruit and green vegetables reduced their risk by 40 percent.

Here are herbal herbs or herbs that help with endometriosis according to the University of Maryland Medical Center website. One herb that helps is evening primrose oil due to the GLA in it. Some experts say that it is better to get GLA from this source than to take borage oil or black currant oil.

Turmeric is known as the most potent anti-inflammatory herb. Also to make sure that you get your money's worth, it has a webinar on it (from the National Cancer Institute) about the main plant medicine in turmeric called curcumin preventing cancer. It is free to read all of my articles but I am a perfectionist when it comes to health information. I want my article to have everything that you need to know so I keep adding information to them.

The Your Health website recommends consuming certain foods to help prevent and manage endometriosis. It appears that women who eat 14 or more servings of green vegetables per week can reduce their risk of endometriosis by up to 70 percent. After a diagnosis of endometriosis is made, eating a diet that is mostly low in fat and vegetarian may help to reduce pain and other symptoms. Before making radical changes to diet, however, it is best to consult with a physician or registered dietitian to avoid complications and ensure that the diet is healthy, well balanced and one that can be followed for a lifetime. [Note how the 3 celebrities mentioned above adopted a plant-based or vegan diet.]

Please note that one woman was saying that she was a vegetarian and had endometriosis. On one forum a woman was saying that dairy was the worst thing for her endo. A vegetarian can consume enough dairy to make it a terrible diet.

Another webpage is Endometriosis-- Diet and Nutrition. Read it and the others for more specific information. When it comes to health, people need education not medication. Read this webpage and the others for additional and specific information. It says:

The role of a controlled diet in Endometriosis management has proved exceedingly beneficial for many women. Some women have even been able to be virtually symptom free with changes in diet. The plan of the endo diet is to relieve or prevent some of the disabling symptoms that occur with menstruation, as well as the general pain of endo. Another goal is to decrease estrogen levels, stabilize hormones, increase energy, alleviate painful cramps and stabilize emotions.

The above goes on to emphasize eating different plant-based or vegan foods. Please note that Americans eat way too much wheat and so it has become very unhealthy. Also to begin with wheat is not a whole grain like whole wheat. So the above suggests avoiding meat, wheat and other unhealthy foods. It says to avoid additives and preservatives. How do you do that? Buy organic foods. You can find healthier foods at a health food store, a Whole Foods or a Trader Joe's food store.

Food That Helps This | Blackstrap Molasses

The video below explains how a woman took a food that got rid of her menstrual cramps that were very bad (some have endo and do not know it) and drastically reduced bleeding.

She took a tablespoon of organic blackstrap molasses everyday. Make sure to watch the video below about how she found out about it and how well it works. Now her and the people that she learned it from do not know why it works, but I have an explanation. It is very bad to consume refined sugar but if you do, blackstrap molasses can reduce the bad effects.

Pure sugar cane is not unhealthy but they take out the blackstrap molasses to make sugar which then has calories but no nutrients! Then they sell the blackstrap molasses in the health food store. The blackstrap molasses has nutrients like chromium that the body needs to metabolize the sugar. Just do a search for chromium and sugar metabolism.

So this woman is consuming refined sugar in processed foods (not talking about the sugar naturally in fruits and vegetables) that is like a poison. The blackstrap molasses acts as like an antidote to that poison. Everyone who consumes refined sugar (called sugar on the ingredient list) should consume blackstrap molasses as an antidote to that poison.

Note that she says that it tastes terrible. Must be all the junk food that she eats. It is very sweet and you can put a tablespoon of it right in your mouth. it tastes great putting it on pancakes, hot cereal or sweet potatoes. I have been putting it on sweet potatoes for many years.

Here is the Story of How I Cured Someone of Endometriosis

This is taken from something that I wrote many years ago. Around 2003 I was friends with a woman, Laurie, who had just got divorced. Due to this, she had very little appetite. I told her to not listen to what people say about forcing herself to eat. I told her to listen to what her body is telling her. Eating while upset, hurts digestion and makes the food toxic. She had endometriosis (inflammation of uterus) which caused painful menstruation and she could not get pregnant after many years. She was concerned about this since she was almost 40 and now not involved with anyone. Laurie had had an operation for this which helps for awhile but now needed another one. There is no cure for endometriosis. She smoked cigarettes, ate meat and was overweight.

She had already gotten the surgery for endometriosis but now (years later) she needed it again. This fits in with the above information about celebrities getting stents put in. They knew that if they followed the same lifestyle then they would need to get more stents put in and they did not want them.

On the home page of this site (link to it above), one fat loss tip is to stay away from negative people. The mistake that Laurie made was becoming friends with me and asking for my help. She would fast for 3 days before her menstruation which was the main cure of her endometriosis. She also (all within a couple of months) lost her excess weight, quit smoking and after looking at a vegan website became a vegetarian. Her endometriosis was totally cured. I mailed her that article by Diane and warned that it may happen to her.

She was concerned when it happened and asked me about it. Please note that she had become a vegetarian, stopped smoking and lost her excess weight and looked great! I told her that I warned her about it and sent her the article about it. She said that if I had not, she would have been freaked out when she no longer had menstruation but since I had warned her she was just concerned. Still with no menstruation she met someone, got involved (and married) and got pregnant. She gave birth to twins-- a boy and a girl!

Here is information from a letter from Laurie before she got pregnant: "Today would normally be day 5 of my period, except my period lasted less than a day.... Almost no blood, no weight gain, no bloating, no irritability, no tender breasts, no sign that I was even menstruating.... It's important that other women know about this. There must be tens of thousands of women in the U.S. alone who are in agony every month, because their doctors don't know squat [squat-- slang for nothing]."

Cysts can go away on their own. Fasting may help it to go away. Animal foods probably make them grow. Try to eat foods that are not processed foods. Animals are given hormones to help make them fatter or give more milk (if you live in the U.S.-- outlawed in many other countries).

Thank you for answering my question so quickly. I suppose if I strip myself of estrogen, naturally by balancing my hormones...I won't be feeding it. Since it is estrogen dependent, it is impacted by environment and hormonal factors. I am just trying to find out if a benign cyst can go away on its own without surgical invasion if I take a holistic approach to treating it. What are your thoughts?

I have not heard of it (Ovarian endometrioma is a benign, estrogen-dependent cyst found in women of reproductive age). But it sounds like your approach is similar to how people help endometriosis.

Do you do consultations? I would like to speak with you about what the doctor says I have, "bilateral ovarian endometrioma". Have you heard of this? My approach to curing it is Diet, Blackstrap Molasses, DIM Suppplement and exercise.

Yes all the modern-day countries, except for the U.S., have banned the bovine growth hormone being used. It is always better to eat organic foods-- no hormones, fungicides, pesticides, GMO and other nasty things.

Dr Mcdougall would likely say: endometriosis, it is the hormones in the diet. The hormones from animals in dairy and meat over time upset our own hormone balance and it is simply not the right food for us. Influenced by hormones are also: infertility, prostate & breast cancer, also our height and cup sizes have increased over generations of eating more animal food. We are on the wrong track.

Yes Anna. I have an article about how people should eat seaweed since it contains a lot of iodine and other trace minerals. The Japanese eat a lot of seaweed and they are the longest living people in the world. Some experts say that a lack of iodine contributes to people getting cancer.

thank you so much for this article.Lots of wonderful information.Sometimes the cause of endo can be linked to a mineral or vitamin deficiency.Iodine deficiency (which causes thyroid problems) can greatly influence your endometriosis.
