How to Frame Affirmations for Reiki
What are Affirmations?
Simply put affirmations are merely positive statements of intent. For instance "I am healthy and happy." is a simple affirmation that is generic enough for anyone to use. Then here is a more detailed affirmation inspired from the book, The Fakir, that can also be used for health, "All the cells in my body are filled with Golden Light. I am in perfect health, mind, emotions, body and spirit."
There is no right or wrong way to give a person a hug. In the same manner there is no right or wrong way to frame an affirmation. As long as you stay true to the intention, keep it positive, and uplifting, it will be a good affirmation.
Using Affirmations with Reiki
Reiki is a system of energy healing which balances the energy body, also called aura, to ensure that no imbalance causes disease on the physical body. With Reiki you can manage a number of minor ailments with out the need of any medication. Even major ailments can be eased by Reiki when used in conjunction with regular medical treatment under a physician.

Here I am dealing specifically with the combination of affirmations with the healing energy of Reiki. I will assume that you already are aware of Reiki and may even be a Reiki Medium or Channel who is practicing Reiki healing on self and others.
Since affirmations play a strong role in programming our subconscious mind, it makes sense to pair them up with Reiki energy to magnify the intensity of the healing that needs to take place.

Framing of Affirmations for use in Reiki
Here are some basic guidelines to help you frame affirmations that can be used to enhance your Reiki practice.
1. Use a strong emotional trigger.
For eg. I am happy that..., The Cosmos is delighted to..., The Universe is excited about...
2. Use only positive words
Avoid using the words no, not, never, negative, basically just about any word that has a negation to it.
3. Frame the sentence as though the action is already complete
For eg, I am so happy that my backache has disappeared, or My parents are delighted that I have successfully passed all my year end exams, etc.
4. Show gratitude for your needs having been met. Pay it forward, so to say.
Which is the best affirmation here?
Given below are three affirmations. Which one do you believe will work best when used with Reiki?
For many people Reiki seems to get limited to the healing that they experience on their physical bodies. The truth is that Reiki can influence a whole lot more than just the body. Any area of your life can be blessed with Reiki using affirmations.
Struggling to lose weight but seem to be stuck? Try this affirmation from Patricia Crane ""I have the best food and exercise plan for me to achieve my ideal weight and maintain it!"" Just add the line Thank you and so it is when you write it down on a piece of paper, then send Reiki to it by holding it within your palms.
Trying to find your soul mate but never seem to have any luck? Use the affirmation "My heart is open to receive the love and support of my soul mate every day. Thank you and so it is. " Again activate your palm chakras and use this affirmation slip to give Reiki to.
You can give Reiki's healing energy to various other situations as well. For example - helping someone with an addiction issue, giving healing to a person suffering from an emotional issue, boosting confidence of a candidate before a job interview, helping a sportsperson perform better at his game. Needless to say this is just an indicative list and you can use Reiki for any positive purpose your mind tells you.
Some Affirmations You Can Adapt and Use
Louise Hay in her book, , mentions that thinking positively can change the way your body and life are. There are a number of good affirmations in the book which you can adapt and use. Here are some that I have found useful on occasion. You Can Heal Your Life
I welcome fun and travel in my life.
I love and approve of myself just the way I am.
I am living my highest purpose.
The universe supports me in everything that I desire and dream to do.
Only the best comes to me.
If you head over to the Heel Your Life website you will be able to read a number of more affirmations which you can adapt for your own personal use with Reiki. The Process of Using Affirmations at Various Reiki Levels
Reiki Level 1
1. Write down the affirmation on a piece of paper following the framing guidelines given above. Ensure it is positive and uplifting.
2. Rub your palms together to activate the palm chakras and then hold the folded affirmation slip between your palms.
3. Once you feel the warmth or tingling sensation disappear and can no longer feel any energy being taken, remove the slip from your palms and place it in a safe place.
4. Use the slip again the next day after you have performed your own self healing. Once the slip is no longer required you can burn it.
Reiki Level 2
1. You can use the Reiki Level 1 method till you write the affirmation slip. Then activate the palm chakras with the Power Symbol.
2. Now take the slip in your hands and use all three symbols on the affirmation slip. After which you can place the slip in your Reiki Box and charge it everyday till it is no longer required.
Reiki Level 3A
1. Write the affirmation as in Reiki Level 1. Then charge it with the symbols like in Reiki Level 2. Then place it in the previously prepared and charged Crystal Grid.
2. Read the affirmations individually as you charge the Crystal Grid each day for 21 days. At the end of the healing period, burn the affirmation slips.
Some people may argue about the need to write down the affirmation. Why can't they just think about it in their mind, they ask. There is no harm in merely thinking about the sentence while doing Reiki. However can you remember the exact same sentence each time you send Reiki to this cause?
As you can imagine, it is easier to write down the wish and repeat it mentally when sending Reiki to it, rather than merely saying it in your mind. This is specially true when you are doing a long term healing for someone. It is easier to just frame the affirmation once and use it repeatedly in written form.
The wish also tends to clarify itself when you put it in writing. The writer is able to better express the intended result if he is forced to clarify with words what he truly desires. Which is why I personally find it much easier to write down an affirmation when I have to Reiki it.
Hope this hub gave you some clarity on what an affirmation is, and how you can combine it with your Reiki practice.
