Blood pressure is the pressure of the blood in the arteries as the heart pumps it around the body. AGE :

Typically, the older you get, the greater your risk. Men usualy develop high blood pressure between the ages of 35 and 55.

FAMILY HISTORY:

If you have close family members who have high blood pressure, you're more likely to have it.

Obesity:

People who are obese, especially those who are sedentary, are more at risk.

Alcohol:

Drinking too much alcohol can increase blood pressure.

Salt:

Too much salt in your diet can increase blood pressure.

Pregnancy

Blood pressure should be monitored at each pre-natal visit.

Stress:

If you're going through a period of long-lasting stress, you could be at risk.

ACCORDING TO ME STRESS IS MOST IMPORTANT FOCTOR AS BRAIN CONTROLS WHOLE BODY FUNCTIONS, STRESS CAN LEAD TO BRAIN ABNORMALITIES WHICH RESULTS IN HYPERTENSION

These conditions could increase risk.

These are the main factors several other factors are also responsible for hypertension likesmoking,chewing tobacco,high cholesterol etc

Now question arise how to lower blood pressure or hypertension?

Here are the few tips which you can add to your daily routine:-

  • Exercise :

Exercise that gets your heart pumping is ideal for keeping your blood vessels healthy. Try running, walking quickly or aerobics. Make sure you get at least 30 minutes each day for most days of the week.

  • Diet :

A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is ideal. Fill two thirds of your plate with fruits and vegetables. Also, fiber-rich foods such as beans and low-saturated fat dairy products are heart-healthy choices. Watch your intake of sweets. Make sure your food choices are low in fat, especially saturated fats.

  • lower your alcohol consumption:

Try to limit your consumption to no more than one drink a day.

  • Reduce stress:

Chronic stress can raise your blood pressure. Try exercises such as Tai chi or yoga, which are proven stress relievers.

  • Don't smoke:

Smoking is one of the most modifiable risk factors for high blood pressure.

  • Think about your WEIGHT:

If your are over weight , try to reduce your overall body weight to 10-15 percent . Reducing weight also help to lower your blood pressure naturally.

  • Go for walk:

Try to go for a 30 minutes walk everyday , this 30 min. walk will keep you fit , healthy and also help you to lower your blood pressure and keep it to its normal level.

  • GO for meditation :

MEDITATION

Meditation is perfect method for stress management , as stress and blood pressure are related together . So reduce in stress results in lowering your blood pressure .

  • Avoid Tobacco :
