How To Make Homemade Exfoliating Facial Scrub to Give and to Use for Smoother Skin.

Updated on April 5, 2015

Facial Scrubs can Brighten Your Complexion

Why Homemade? Homemade Gifts can mean so much to your fiends.

Making your own facial masks and scrubs can be very economical and also be used as nice gifts

for friends and family. Purchase pretty containers from a store and put your own personal label

on the product. Take a ribbon and tie a pretty bow and you have a gift anyone would be thrilled

to receive.

With the economy being one in which we are all trying to save money I think this is an awesome

idea and I plan on making some for myself and family!!!

Beautiful Skin the Easy Way

Why Sugar and Olive Oil are Great Ingredients

To make your own facial scrub you can come up with some of your own personal favorites but I like brown sugar, olive oil, rosemary essential oil and honey.

Sugar is good because not only does it act as an exfoliator but it also emulsifies and acts as an emollient.

l especially like rosemary essential oil because of the scent (personal preference) and it is known to kill germs and increase brain function. Rosemary is full of calcium, vitamin B6, and iron. You could also use lavender oil at bedtime to relax you and help you get a good night's sleep.

If you want you can add a little honey for dry skin. Vitamin E is another nice ingredient as it acts as an acne treatment, scar remover and helps with sun protection.

You can also use your favorite carrier oil but oilive oil is easy to find as is grape seed and fairly inexpensive.

Directions for Sugar Facial Scrub

Now for your directions!!! You will need:

  1. 1 cup brown sugar or raw sugar if you prefer
  2. 1/2 cup extra virgin oil, almond oil, or even vegetable oil
  3. 1tsp vitamin E ,you can open gel caps if you like
  4. Rosemary essential oil, several drops to smell or 1 tsp. vanilla
  5. 1Tbls honey for dry skin

In a mixing bowl combine oil, vitamin E , essential oil or vanilla and honey

Add the brown or raw white sugar and mix well.

Now pour mixture into your favorite containers or some you have saved previously. Tie a pretty bow around it with label and directions. You can even add a cute spoon to add color.

Be careful not to slip if using in the shower. Preferable use over the sink with warm water. Rub into your skin lightly. Mixture will appear to melt as it warms with your skin. Can be used daily .

How to Get and Keep Good Skin

Beautiful skin is something we can be born with and then continue to keep with good use of sunscreen and skin care.
