How to balance your chakras with Reiki

Updated on August 28, 2011

Day to day living consists of daily demands from either our jobs, other co-workers or even from our family and friends. Living up to our own and others expectations can be draining and can often lead to many imbalances in our daily lives. A natural healing method to maintain a form of balance in our lives and within our own bodies is Reiki.

Reiki is a natural healing method that uses the “universal life force” or also known as "all-Divine" or "God"/"Goddess" (depending on your beliefs) healing. It is channeled through the Reiki practitioner to the recipient and the recipients chakras and the results are quite amazing. Chakras are energy points in which we all have. They correspond to areas of the body. Please see the corresponding picture for further reference.

Many healing miracles have been accomplished from this method of healing, but what I want to tell you about is how to balance your chakras in order to heal the body and help you maintain a feeling of health and well-being.

Reiki is a wonderful place to start if you are looking for an all natural and non-invasive method of healing. Along with proper diet, exercise, vitamins and sleep, we are, for the most part, healthy. But life gets in the way and can lead to imbalances that can't be helped.

The chakras are all connected and relate to each other, but to balance the chakras while performing Reiki can be done simply by using the Reiki to cleanse and balance. This can be done to yourself, if you've been attuned to Reiki, or someone else.

So give Reiki to...

  • Root chakra, or number 1 chakra and the third eye chakra, or number 6 chakra. Wait until you feel the same energy flowing and picture yourself pulling and opening the chakra that is closed and needs to balance the corresponding chakra. Wait until you “feel” in your palms that it is balanced and the energy feels the same in each hand, one being held over the third eye and the other over the root.

Then move on to...

  • The sacral, number 2 chakra, and the throat chakra, number 5. Repeat cleansing and balancing the energies so that they match “feeling” in your palms.

Then do move on to...

  • The solar plexus, number 3 and the heart chakra, number 4. Repeat above actions.

It is important to balance your chakras because if you are imbalanced in an area it will lead to sickness in one area over another within your body. So for example, I know a woman that is a psychic, constantly using her third eye, but unfortunately for her, she suffered terrible migraine headaches. I suggested balancing her chakras for her, so she would need her third eye chakra balanced with her root chakra. It just so happens that she has had these migraines since she had hit menopause and had no idea why. Well her root chakra had become inactive because of natural life processes and could not be helped. While this was great for her predictions and psychic abilities, it didn't help her head. After balancing her chakras, she noted that she has not had a recurring migraine incidence. I have other examples of the positive results of balancing the chakras with my own life and my family's lives.

As with everything in life, balance does tend to be the key to happiness. With misery, comes happiness and likewise, without misery we would not know happiness to the extent that we do. Just as we know of bad we also know of good, and there cannot be bad without good and there cannot be good without bad. Therefore, balance in everything and everything in balance.
