How to develop a work ethic no matter the situation.

A simple touch can lead to positive feelings that can lead to healing and so much more.

Most of you do not work hard at all.

Yes, we know that is a really tough pill to swallow and just an outright insult. Sorry but it is still true. Most of our fatigue comes from other sources rather than hard work.

You are not excelling - Why? What is the matter. Well I could tell you in about 8 words but that would not do the trick so let us examine ourselves first and then apply the Dierker work ethic.

I was born defective. Really, some kind of turned in leg that went backwards and some other small defects. I was also born socially challenged in that I was and illegitimate bastard back when that really meant something bad. And guess what? From before I can remember I was taught an ethic to overcome challenges. Life was going to be hard and my dad made sure that I focused on what could be done and not on what could not be done.

I have some issues nowadays with a type of blah blah depression. Sometimes I just have trouble getting motivated for a dang thing.

So I do not come to this subject like one of those all stars or inspirational gurus. I often just slog along.

Some days getting that foot out of bed seems harder than climbing a mountain.

So if I am a train wreck and you are normal imagine what my secret can hold for you.

My guess is that Louis did not really have it easy. I will bet sometimes the burden was heavy. Like "shoeless Joe" and Jackie Robertson.

Oh honey child I can sing them blues and I does.

The first one my daddy taught me was one that we adapted after the 78 record finally just gave out. I like the version that I have sung to all my people since I was knee high to a grasshopper and danced only barefoot with my sisters and momma on the floor of our one room plus loft cabin my daddy and grandpa built.

Let me go home whiskey

Let me walk out of that door

I got orders from my baby not to come home juiced no more

Whiskey every morning and whiskey every night

As long as I got my whiskey baby everything alright.

Oh let me go home whiskey let me walk right out that door

I got orders from my baby not to come home juiced no more.

///////

Now you see that is a sad song if ever I did hear one and that is a broke man. So we sang and sing it in remembrance that there but by the grace of God go we.

This is close and gives you the beat and tempo but not the about 1919 version but still it has the feel.

Now my brothers and sisters you are ready for the news and the Dierker method.

One danged foot in front of the other danged foot all day long. Get up and get it done. There is no secret to life and there ain't no trick. Motion is our cure for mediocrity and failure. Get the juices flowing and get right off that butt and get what needs to be done done.

Take this as truth. There is no one telling that co-worker in the cubicle next to you or that writer across the world or that competitor the same thing. It is not politically correct at this time for someone to tell you to get off your butt and get it done. It is like it is a affront to our sensibilities to be told not to be lazy. It is like "how dare you" "they may have issues",,,, well duh duh and duh we all do and that ain't no excuse or reason for nothing.

Truly look around you today and do the "judge others" thing. Do not worry it will not be sinful just for this exercise. Be critical of those around you or who you deal with today. And please keep your mouth shut and just store the knowledge. Now apply the same critical analysis on your self.

Remember not to dwell in that place just notice it be aware of it and move on.

You think I want to hike down and up that trail with 30 lbs to train to hike the Grand Canyon. Absolutely not. But that is the Eric Dierker method.

Pretty brutal isn't it. Let us talk about whiners and winners.

I critique, slam and declare damned. I do problem resolution for a living and have to cut right quick to the heart of the matter or those checks dry up quick.

On HP here I chase right after those evil devil publishers and editors. But they are not slowing me down one lick and will not ever have true effect on my efficacy or my income and Return on Investment and if they do --- shame the heck on me. They are toadies and their game is easy as long as I follow the Eric Dierker method.

Here is how it goes with this method --- get up and get to work. All day everyday and just change the work to something more harmonious on days off.

I do not at all seek revenue here until June 2014 and that is a serious 2 year marker. So in the meantime I must write at least 5 hubs a week. It don't matter if there is no money. It matters because Eric Dierker said to Eric Dierker that it requires at least that to be excelling and I only do excelling.

By April I will be at over 5,000 comments and I will rank on Avast at under one million. And by May my website and blogsite will be filled with content from here and I will have over 200 featured hubs.

The Eric Dierker method works even for us folks.

Oh take my word for it, you will get slammed by family, office workers, online writers, editors and whoever else including clergy. But that there do not matter one tiny bit because tomorrow you wake up again and apply the Dierker method and after one or two years you baby are the one that is left standing.

So if we criticize we will get slammed. But guess what, we will still be here to criticize next year and the year after when those slammers are long gone.

I know you are very healthy and have no issues.

Does it bother you that someone who is not healthy and has issues is out performing you and is an amateur?

Well that mountain will not be climbed unless you do it.

When we refer to making valleys filled and mountains flat, that is not literal, that is about our perspective.

Here is the really cool part

The Eric Dierker model works well in the following great areas of life: Child care and development, gardening. politics, charity and even marital issues.

Just get up and do. Like I can tell you; I own a house, contribute to two family trusts have four great children and two cars that are in the driveway because the garage is for ping pong and darts and mini golf. I do not care about my mortgage because I know one really important Eric Dierker truth. If I get up and get to work and put one foot in front of the other each day. I will do better than 85% of you.

The Dierker approach works and I wish I could charge you for it.

e

This guy was no great athlete and in fact he was older when he did this. He just put one foot in front of the other.

We should apply the Erc Dierker Method to everything we do in life. If it's good enough for you, it's good enough for me.

"Get up and get to work." Simple message but most powerful instruction if we will get the most out of life. Thank you for the prescription, doctor.

wrenchbiscuit, that is funny, I work with a firm right now that has a meeting to send out simple business letters it holds up everything, and you guessed it I am working with them because they are failing. So in your case I suggest calling someone over to push you real hard.

Thank you for a very funny comment!

Up, Useful, and Interesting. Thanks for this inspiring, motivating hub.

To your dictum, "Put one foot in front of the other," I would add, "in the direction of achievement."

I am, as best I can figure, an enneagram personality type 9. Our characteristic vice is sloth. It's not that we don't work hard and busily. As is typical of a 9, I am a busy, industrious bee when it comes to doing what is secondary while procrastinating taking care of business. Today I'm going to stay on the mainline and not get sidetracked.
