How to feel love when you're feeling down
It's just a distortion that can be altered

The fact that you are reading this article show's you are aware of your mood and changing it is important to you.
We all have days when, no matter what's going on, we still see the day as gray. It's an uncomfortable feeling that colors our mood and can affect those around us. When you are feeling down, the love you normally feel toward people and things is hard to find.
Nothing has changed however. Those things you love are still right in front of you. It just takes a little of your attention and focus to bring all the color back into your life.

What do you see around you?
As you look around your room, or wherever you are what do you see around you?
At the office
If you are at the office, do you keep a picture of any of your loved ones nearby? If not, (and it's OK with your employer) add one or two. Preferably corny ones that make you smile when you look at it. Is there a window you can look out? If so, is there foliage or something attractive to see? Find the beauty in the brilliant greens and colors of the plants or calming sight and sound of a fountain. Are there people in your office you care about? Focus on why you like them. Go over and say "Hi". Some light conversation with a friend can help those moody blues!
If you're at home what surrounds you? This is your oasis, your refuge, so you should have things you love all around, inside and out. As you move around stop at each object of interest and focus on it, like the flower I found on my bougainvillea plant. It would have been enough just to feast my eyes on the brilliant fuschia color, but the flower excelled even further by displaying "a flower within a flower". You can't help but love such an exquisite creation of nature.

The simple life of a child
Sometimes we let the strain of everyday life cloud the beauty that is behind it.
Children are the greatest gift of life. Their simple way of living is something we all long for. But, their precious ways can be easily overlooked if you let all the "other stuff" take away those fleeting moments they can share with you now.
If you have children, just sit and observe them. They show us how to "live in the now". They know things will be fine and they don't let problems fester. They wake up each day EXPECTING to be happy which is a great lesson for all of us.
If you don't have children, visit a family or friend that has small children and spend a little time with them. Just a hug will make a wonderful difference in your mood.
You just gotta laugh at life or it will make you crazy!
Watch that funny movie or show
Nothing works any better then a comedy and we all have ones we love. You may have saved a movie or show on your DVR or own some hilarious movies. Dust them off and watch them. You can also pull a plethora of laughable videos from Youtube. Get your mind moving in a positive direction. The quality of life is how we live it. When you are having that gray day, then add color; add some love and laughter. It truly is all around you just waiting for you to notice.
Love looks for ways to express itself
Just as I mentioned earlier, love displays itself through your friends and loved ones, through nature and even in the things you watch on TV. When you occasionally feel down, it's normal. Circumstances can leave us wanting from time to time. But the thing is to find ways to move yourself past that feeling with those things that you love. Whether it's a craft, gaming, sports, dancing or anything else that can pull you up and out, it's worth the effort.
