How To Cure A Headache.

Headaches are not life threatening but they are one of the most annoying health problems that people face. A headache is recognized as pain anywhere in the head or neck. And it can be a sign of different conditions in the head or neck. Most people don't know this but the brain tissue has no pain receptors so it can't have pain its self.

The most common causes for headache are tension headaches and migraine headaches. You should know that you can easily overdo the painkillers you take for headaches and make your headache worse.

Were really lucky that most headaches don't require medical attention and you can usually get relief from a headache by taking over the counter medicines like aspirin or ibuprofen. Just use care to follow the package directions and don't over take the medication.

If you are having headaches quite frequently you may want to keep a headache journal describing where the headache pain is located. Also write down what foods you eat, are you in a stressful situation, along with any aggravating factors that are going on around you. This journal will be helpful if you need to go to your doctor and seek medical help for your head aches.

Tension Headaches

90 percent of the time it is tension that causes headaches. tension headaches can be triggered by a number of factors but most of the time the factor causing the headache is psychological. Tension headaches are usually dull pain and seem to involve the whole head.

Simple pain killers like aspirin and ibuprofen may not be effective in stopping a headache caused by tension and anxiety. Quite often if you have headaches caused by tension and anxiety it may require a visit to a doctor for prescription drugs for anxiety and to relieve muscle tension.

Migraine Headaches

Migraine or vascular headaches are caused by the swelling of blood vessels in the head. Quite often a migraine is throbbing, and in some cases can cause nausea and vomiting. Often the only thing that will help a migraine is to lay down in a dark quite room.

Often people who have migraines on a regular basis will know when a migraine headache is coming on. These signs are often blind spots in the persons vision, flashing shapes, or sensitivity to light. A migraine head ace attack may last for a few hours or for days.

Don't forget that caffeine or the lack of caffeine can cause headaches. if you've been drinking sodas with caffeine and you suddenly stop you'll get a headache. Natural Ways To Cure A Headache

Lemons

One of the best things I have found to get rid of headaches is to add fresh squeezed lemon juice to water and tea. I don't know why it works but it does work. My Grandmother used to grind up the rinds of a lemon and she would apply this to the forehead and it would cure a headache.

Mint or Catnip

i remember my Grandmother using regular mint and catnip to relieve headaches. Both mint and cat nip will relieve the pain of headaches and if you have a headache near bedtime drink a cup or two of cat nip tea and it will relieve the headache and you will get a good nights sleep.

Ground Cayenne Pepper

If your suffering from a sinus headache add a few sprinkles of cayenne pepper to a glass of water and drink it down quickly. And just as quickly the cayenne pepper will cure your sinus headache. You can buy cayenne capsules at your local health food store.

It May Be As Simple As Water

Quite often if you have a headache you can drink a large glass or two of cold water and get rid of your headache. If you have a really bad headache try drinking a glass of water over a big glass of crushed ice. As you drink that icy water you may feel your headache slipping away. If the water doesn't quite do the trick lay down and take a nap.

You May Need A Break

If you can only walk out of the room for five minutes go into a quite room and lay down for that five minutes. Especially if you think or know that you have a tension headache. Even a short break from what you were doing will often bring relief.

Eating Right Is Very Important

If you have bad headaches on a regular basis you probably need to start eating right. You need to eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Fruit and vegetable juices can also be very good for you. Make sure that nothing you are eating has MSG in it. This food additive can cause bad headaches in some people. You may run into MSG if you eat Japanese or Chinese Foods.

Should You Be Eating Hot Sauce

if you have sinus headaches on a regular basis buy and start adding hot sauce to your food on a regular basis. believe it or not but the hot sauce will clear up and prevent sinus headaches.
