Gastric Band Hypnosis
Hypnotherapy has been used effectively for weight loss for a number of years but as advancements have been made in hypnosis so have the techniques that the therapists use. The Hypno-Band is a relatively new technique which tricks your mind into believing that you have had a gastric band fitted all whilst you are in a hypnotic trance. It is a revolutionary system as it combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with hypnosis so that your eating habits can be examined and then altered permanently.
Gastric Band Hypnosis makes you believe that your stomach has reduced in size and therefore the person undergoing the treatment begins to believe that they are less hungry which means that they eat less. It is an entirely natural treatment and because of this there is no need to spend large amounts of money on risky surgery.
The Hypnotic Gastric Band technique normally takes place over four or five sessions of hypnosis. The initial sessions are used not only for information gathering but to find out under hypnosis exactly why the client continues to overeat. Generally there will be an emotional reason why a person eats too much and uncovering the root cause can allow the client to understand the real reasons for their problem. Then together with their hypnotherapist they can find ways in order to change their habits. Once the cause of the problem is established the client is then taught to recognise that they only need to eat when they are hungry and natural instincts will begin to take over.
Once the emotional root of the problem has been discovered then virtual surgery will take place. This virtual surgery makes the client believe that they have had a gastric band fitted to the top of their stomach forming a small pouch. This tricks their unconscious mind to believe that they are only able to eat a small amount of food before they feel full. The suggestion that they are unable to eat too much and will feel less hungry is compounded by CD's which are given to the client. These CD's need to be listened to in conjunction with program and reinforce all the work that is done in the sessions.
The Hypno-Band does not promote faddy diets but instead encourages slow and steady weight loss over time. A sensible amount to lose would be 1 or 2Ibs in weight per week. The Hypno-Band also encourages a sensible exercise regime to enable the weight to come off quicker. The Hypno-Band is not a suitable weight loss plan for a number of people including those who suffer from thyroid conditions that have not been stabilised or insulin dependent diabetics.
