I Had A Strange Dream Last Night

Updated on May 2, 2013

I Had A Strange Dream Last Night

I had the strangest dream last night

And I am certainly glad it wasn't true.

I dreamed someone had gone to Hell

And it seemed that someone was you.

I seemed to see you through a window

And it was such a horrible sight to see

For your whole body was all aflame

And you just kept reaching out to me.

But I could not reach you to help

There was a barrier much too strong.

You just seemed to burn and burn

Being held prisoner by the Devil's tong.

The fire did not consume your flesh

Though you tried so hard to endeavor,

To free your self ,but you could not

And you would just burn on forever.

Yes, I am glad it was just a dream

For oh, the pain ,and what a loss.

If you were ever to meet such a fate.

Friend ,why not go now to the Cross?

Clara Kish

.

What a terrible fate for a loved one to have.

We know that we can't make them to choose

to live for God, but oh, how we wish we could.

When they know the Way and have lived it

why would they ever go back to the life

that they had before they met Jesus.Friends

perhaps , the ties of this world are so strong

sometimes that they are so very hard to break.

You can take them to church when they are

small but when they get out on their own it

can be a lot different then .Friends ,the world

itself can be an enemy to the young who are

trying to live for the Lord,we need to pray and

pray , be in constant prayer for them !

Thank you ,Faith, that is about all that we can do sometimes.Remember

God can work miracles even on those who don't believe in God anymore, but God still believes in them and would take them back if they would just call on Him.Thanks for your comment . Love, Clara

Yes, we can pray and continue to pray that the Lord reveal His truths to those who are lost.

      Excellent write.

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Yes, MsDora, I have people in Heaven and Hell both ,it is not a pleasant thought. When people are determined to not follow God there is not much we can do except pray for them , but who knows maybe at the last moment they asked God for forgiveness. We will have to leave them to God ,there is nothing that we can do when they have passed on.Thanks for your comment. Love,Clara

Yes MsClara, this is certainly a good time for this poem. Made me stop and reflect on where I am in my walk toward righteousness. So touching that you reveal your personal hurt for the eternal loss of someone else.
