Let me tell you now that you are not alone. It seems we all experience being fat at some point in our lives.

Why am I fat? : Reasons for Weight Gain
There are a lot of possible reasons to the why am I fat question. Over-eating, constant eating, mindless eating - these are the usual culprits.
Others say they're fat because of their genes; having a slow metabolism, perhaps. To some, lack of sleep may be a contributing factor to weight gain or being fat. It may even be stress-related.
No matter what we say the reasons are, at the end of the day, they all boil down to the dreadful calories.

To lose weight, there is one formula that we should always remember:

We've all heard of this before right?
Every food we eat carries calories, along with the nutrients they contain, if any. These calories are the energy supply of our body in order to live, to move, to work, to play.
On an average, a woman requires 2000 calories a day; a man, 2500. The requirement varies depending on the weight, age, profession, lifestyle of an individual.
When we consume more than we need, our body automatically stores this energy as fats. The more excess calories we eat, the fatter we get.
At this point, exercise is necessary. We need to exercise to burn away fats. We need to move our butts, jog a little, run a bit, play sports sometimes to use the calories or fats in our bodies.
If we don't, we might end up fatter. Along with excess weight are health complications that we don't need.
Why am I fat? : The solution to weight problems
It's natural that we eat. Our bodies are physically fueled by the nutrients we get from our foods. Eating too much however, leads to weight gain.
- Exercise. Diet. Good nutrition. These are good starter kits to a younger, fitter life.
- Do simple cardio workouts at home. Buy a gym membership, if you prefer that. Invite a friend to play tennis with you. Move your body more and use the stored fats that you've been keeping for years and years.
- Start watching what you eat. You don't have to deprive yourself of the tasty sweets or fattening butter. You can still enjoy those foods, but eat them with caution. Learn to eat in small portions, too.
- Learn to eat wisely. Eat grilled rather than pan-fried. Eat fruits instead of candies. Having these little changes in your diet is very rewarding to your waistline; as well as your heart.
