I need more Time!

Updated on September 26, 2011

It is time to make time :)

Have you ever mentioned the words "I need more time"?

Perhaps you have, and if you did, you ought to know that you are not alone. At least 34% of men and 65% of women around the globe follow the course of the said dilemma. Young and old, people today seem to understand the dilemma of not having enough time to complete everything they desire to do in a day.

With the many concerns of everyone, there are instances when the most important things are the ones that are left behind.

Usually, these important things include family bonding; a time with your husband or your wife;a time for yourself and the most abused among all is the time for God [given that a person believes in him...]. These particular occasions being left behind has caused social moral to deteriorate and several individuals to lose track of what is important causing more pain to themselves and the people they love.

Why is there not so much time anymore?

People have become too much preoccupied with our desires to provide what we think our family needs or perhaps what we think we ourselves want. The course of commercial culture has further increased our need to work for more. The real needs that we ought to have for the sake of survival have been replaced by what the market defines to be particular needs for us to consider. Truly, the modern society gives more importance to acquiring things we are actually capable of living without.

Undeniably, the advertising companies have introduced a new culture of demand for the entire society. Believably, the success that advertising accomplishes has created a certain gap among families who used to live in simplicity. If back then, children are already contented with being able to play with their peers outside or simply being able to have wooden toys that enable them to build and create, now, children just can't do without computers. Being involved in a society that embraces the digital technology, it even seems like as if parents are keeping the good things away from their children if they choose not to give the young ones what they want.

For many, the invitation of advertisements towards travelling has caused frustrations instead of relaxation. In this current civilization of development, being able to follow along the fad that the market sets has become an essential part of happiness for many. It seems like as if living a simple life today serves so much challenge to those who are really dedicated to remaining themselves connected to the bare essentials.

Take note though that only those who are able to set aside their wants are the ones who become capable expand their time availability and accommodate activities that involve their need to provide for their families, their children, their partners and themselves. Only they are able to give attention to the more important things in life especially with their spiritual health.Only they are the ones who are able to experience genuine happiness amidst all the pressures that the modern society imposes.

How about you, how much are you willing to adjust to make more time for the more important things in your life? Are you willing to defy what this world recognizes to be normal such as incurring gadgets that might not be that essential for your job or for your family's welfare? Are you willing to stay simple so as to make more time?

It's quite interesting that twice as many women than men seems to have problem with finding time...I guess two jobs (at home and at day job) make up the stats - money, money, money...such is world we live in

I have a computer because I use it to work. I have never allowed my children to have video games and they and their friends think I am out of my mind. I made them go outside to play because I think it is good for their physical and psychological health. It is also good for their imaginations. They used them to come up with things to do. Sometimes they were not good things.

I allow 2 1/2 hours on the computer to my daughter, only because she is homeschooled and needs to do work on the computer. 1/2 hour of that is for her to get on and talk to her friends that do not live close by.
