A Little About Myself

Hello! I'm Rebekah Stevens, a 20 year old living in Sonora, California. I want to share some tips with you on how I lost 65 lbs in 6 months! When I first began my weight-loss journey in December 2015, I weighed 201 lbs.

I had known for awhile that I needed to lose some weight, but once my doctor told me that I was pre-diabetic, I decided to get my ass in gear and put on my big girl panties. It was time to take initiative in saving my body!

First Steps

Beginning the process of losing weight is a scary thought, I know.

What if I put all this effort in and it doesn't work?

Can't I just take weight-loss pills?

It's time to stop asking those questions! Losing weight isn't as easy as taking a pill, especially if you have as much weight to lose as I did!

My first step was signing up for a workout class with some friends. Friends help motivate you and give you a sense of commitment so you don't want to skip! I only went two days a week for 1 1/2 hours, so it didn't take up too much time!
Can't afford the gym? Not enough time?

THAT'S OKAY!

Just start at home! Go to Walmart, pick up a yoga mat and a couple 5 lb weights and you're set! There are thousands of free workout videos on the internet! Post your success on social media for support if you can't meet up with your friends in person. You can even workout live on Facebook these days!

Making a List, Checking It Twice!

My next step was a little more tricky than simply working out. I decided to try the newest trend and go Gluten-Free! Cutting out gluten also got rid of fast-food (So long McD's!)

Before you decide to go gluten-free, make sure you're ready to commit! In many cases(mine included), people find out through this diet that they're Gluten-Intolerant.

So check your grocery list-twice! Make sure there are no gluten products in it before you buy!

Here's some more info: http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/celiac-disease/features/gluten-intolerance-against-grain

I know, I know! I hear and understand your frustrations! Dieting isn't easy, especially when you love food as much as I do! If cutting out gluten is too much for you, try something else! There are SO many amazing diets out there, just for you!

I know all these options can make it hard to choose! Here is a link to some helpful dieting tips that I use myself! https://authoritynutrition.com/how-to-lose-weight-as-fast-as-possible/

Last but not least, if you're an avid soda drinker I have some bad news for you-
Soda is one of the leading causes of obesity and diabetes! Giving up soda(and other highly sugared drinks) will give you a giant boost to your weight loss goal!

You Can Do It Too!

I know it's really hard to be motivated to lose weight- it takes time, patience, and hard work, but keep in mind that once you finally get to your weight goal, you'll feel like the baddest babe on the planet!

I really hope this article helps those of you out there like me, who struggled with weight problems most of my life.

The best you can do is try!
