IBS- Irritable bowel syndrome

Well the name speaks for it self, the condition itself is irritating and very painful to go through and I cant eat many food as my stomach is really sensitive. Irritable Bowel syndrome is a common gut disorder. Symptoms can be quite variable and include abdominal pain, bloating, and sometimes bouts of diarrhoea and/or constipation. Symptoms tend to 'come and go'. There is no cure for IBS, but symptoms can often be eased with treatment.

I had it since when i was around 6 or younger as i remember i use to vomit when i use to eat and have bad cramps which i use to think i was hungry well i was a child. Then to make the matter worse when i was around 10 years old i went to visit my family in Pakistan and i was really ill for about 2 months so my holiday was not really a holiday. When i returned back from my holiday i was still very ill every now and then, i use to have a really bad burning pain in my stomach, I use to vomit and had a bad case of diarrhoea. As a young child i turned to my mother when in pain or when i am ever upset and as all mothers they get upset and wonder what is wrong with their child (me).

"Peptic ulcer or stomach ulcer is usually caused by an infection with a bacterium (germ) called H. pylori. symptoms which may occur include: bloating, retching, and feeling sick. You may feel particularly 'full' after a meal."

I went to the doctors so many times but they had labelled me as an attention seeking child, I took that so offensively and a child in pain this is how the doctors treated me? And then i was finally admitted to a specialist by my not so helpful GP. She was a female doctor, i was around 14 when i was given a diagnosis that i had a stomach ulcer also know as a peptic ulcer, it is an infection with a bacterium (germ) called H. pylori. Which i had caught in Pakistan. She told me if i was not referred and treated on time it could have turned into something severe and worse (stomach cancer). The news hit me so hard that I started to cry, but was happy that i was going to be finally treated after 4 YEARS in pain. I was happy that i could be cured from the ulcer. I went for several treatments and had an endoscopy done and had taken tablets and was cured of my ulcer witihin time. The pain comes and goes because of the irritable bowel syndrome which is always going to be there and apparently there is no cure,i was happy as the main problem was peptic ulcer.

Still every now and then i have to watch what i eat and look after my stomach well and i do tend to fall ill and suffer from food like poisoning symptoms which i have been hospitalised twice last year because of it, it is very painful. All illnesses and disease have a downside such as "irritable bowel syndrome" is a very irritating condition which deprives me sometimes of my sleep and comfort of eating nice food. I am not allowed to have much spicy food, sour and fast food, as too much will irritate my stomach. Well i have to live with this and hopefully it will cure by looking after myself and having a good diet and try to remain stress free as it is another factor which causes irritable bowel syndrome.

Personally I am happy with myself and with life i take it as it comes and think of everything in a positive way and i believe there is a cure for everything even irritable bowel syndrome that is being patient and hope.

To those who have the same condition as myself i wish you all the best in life and to remain patient and calm and not to worry about it too much and try to enjoy life as much as you can.I found a weviste about Ibs which has really helped me alot and i know it woud help you to check it out

People with IBS, have any of you looked at the paleo diet? People have been cured from IBS, Crohn's, ulcerative colitis and other autoimmune conditions. Do your research and don't take one practitioners opinion, western medicine has very little knowledge on diet and they still have a long way to go in understanding the relationship between dysbiosis, intestinal wall damage (leaky gut) and food sensetivity/allergy, cramping, bloating, ulcers. Please do your research people. It saved me. I was in 6 weeks of absolute agony-pain to the point of collapse, multiple specialists and hospitalisations and they had no idea.

Stress is the main cause for IBS, so be positive because what is happening in your life it happens for your good.
