Learn How to Keep Your Digestive System Healthy

Do you ever suffer from an uncomfortable bloating feeling, abdominal cramps, indigestion or a general lack of energy?

If so, then it’s possible that you could be suffering from an unbalanced digestive tract. Dietary supplements such as high-fiber pills or natural digestive aids can help to combat the problem and are certainly great for keeping you ”regular”. However this is not usually enough to help towards the underlying cause of the problem.

When thinking about how to keep your digestive system healthy, consider a supplement that is 100% natural and works to overcome symptoms as well as increasing overall health and wellness at the same time.

To choose the best natural supplement for digestive health, you should think about the four crucial “building blocks” that work naturally together for optimum results; these are soluble fiber, enzymes, phenolics and prebiotics.

Soluble Fiber

The component of plant-based foods that we are unable to digest is known as dietary fiber. It works by cleaning the system as it passes through the digestive tract. Dietary fiber is separated into two types: insoluble and soluble. Insoluble fiber works by absorbing water, whereas soluble fiber produces fatty acids to enhance overall health and well-being. These fatty acids help to balance the levels of blood glucose and reduce the amount of bad cholesterol in the blood. They also help to keep the colon healthy and functioning correctly. It is thought that soluble fiber may be beneficial in helping to prevent major health conditions such as colon cancer, obesity or perhaps even high blood pressure.

Enzymes

Enzymes are natural biologic components that assist in breaking down the food we eat so that our bodies can be sustained. This makes enzymes essential for keeping our digestive systems healthy and functioning correctly. The more enzymes that are present in the body the quicker a nutrient can be broken down and digested. Without enzymes, the body could become susceptible to diseases such as phenylketonuria (PKU) or Tay-Sachs which affects mental ability and can even cause death in young children.

Phenolics

Phenolic compounds, otherwise known as phenols, are natural bioactives that work by decreasing the growth of bad bacteria while at the same time promoting the growth of good bacteria in the digestive system. They are a powerful anti-oxidant that are present in some of the healthiest foods such a berries and green tea. Our bodies need to consume foods that are rich in anti-oxidants, or natural supplements that contain phenols, to assist in fighting stress, disease and premature aging.

Prebiotics

Prebiotics (not to be confused with probiotics) are a form of dietary fiber that has a significant effect on the health of the colon. Probiotics actually contain living bacteria that pass through the stomach to the small intestine. Foods such as honey and kiwifruit contain a small amount of prebiotics. Prebiotics are an essential ingredient in the 4-step building blocks that are needed to keep the digestive system healthy.

As I am sure you will agree, each of these four components are essential in any digestive health supplement. It is important to remember, of course, that any natural supplement should be taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Now that you’ve learned how to keep your digestive system healthy, and how to choose a supplement that’s right for you, you can start to feel the benefits.

Say goodbye to uncomfortable bloating and begin to enjoy more comfort in your stomach and colon, a healthier immune response, more energy, and also more beautiful skin!

Hi Cloverleaf! This is great. We have to keep our plumbing in proper working order. If your kitchen sink or toilet backs up - problems. Same with our internal system.

A good Educational read Cloverleaf...I've also been hearing a lot about "Apple Cider Vinegar" and the many Helath Benefits of taking 2 Teaspoons twice a day with a meal. It does take getting used to the Tangy Taste, but it can be disguised.

My family, including myself, have always had digestive issues one way or another. Due to this I tend to keep a fairly healthy diet including fresh fruit, veggies, grains, etc... Still I needed something to help things along and this supplement is working well for me.

I have been taking 2 pills of the Lady Soma Fiber Cleanse when I wake up and 2 pills about 8 hours later in the afternoon (this routine has gone on for about 3 weeks now). My bowel functions have regulated and become easier. I do not feel any nausea upon taking these Lady Soma pills on an empty stomach and the pills do not have a strong taste or after-taste.

I have also felt a slight change in energy level. I am usually a bit fatigued and sore due to anemia, but lately I have been feeling less fatigue and a bit more energy. So far there is nothing I do not like about this product and I intend on keeping up with my daily routine.
