Laughter Heals the Soul

Updated on January 7, 2014

People Should Laugh More Because Laughter Heals

Have you ever laughed so hard that you cried? Doesn't it feel great? There is nothing that feels so good as laughter.

Laughing is also contagious. The other day, I heard my son down stairs playing with our cats and he was laughing so hard. The sound of his belly laugh made me smile. Laughter is the best medicine when you are feeling blue.

Have you laughed today? Well read through this page and maybe we can make your laugh. Have fun and laugh out loud. It really is good for you.

Laughter is the Best Medicine

I laughed so hard, I cried....

A couple weeks ago, my Mom and I were watching a movie called Run Fat Boy Run. It was so funny. There was a scene in the movie where the main character had a itch and was trying to itch himself while being inconspicuous. It was the funniest thing. We laughed so hard we were both crying.

I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose. ~Woody Allen

Laughter Yoga

Laughter is an instant vacation. ~Milton Berle

I really haven't in a while. But I remember working on the property and my family really did not like it when one son and I worked together on a heavy job. I remember lifting something with him on the other end and we could do it as long as we did not catch each others eye. Then it was all over and we laughed so hard we could not finish the job. The heavier the job, the more we laughed. I really don't know why but it happened every time. It will even happen now when I get together with him - and we don't do the heavy jobs anymore.

I love those moments when something unexpected happens that catches you the right way where you just burst out laughing and can't stop. It could be something someone says and an image pops into my head, it could be while people watching and seeing something unexpected happen, or some funny line or scene in a movie or on TV. Laughter is the best!!

I've not laughed until I've cried, but I've laughed until I couldn't stand up. Most recently, watching some documentary on the way people live, eeking out a living from a hostile landscape, they were scaring birds away from their crops by banging sticks on pans. Then something totally unexpected, they set up volatile liquids around the trees and BLEW UP THE TREES! It was just the sheer lunacy of it and contrast with banging on sticks that made me unable to stop laughing - with my wife. We laughed for ages, and just when we thought we'd stop, one of us would let out another laugh and we'd be in fits again. Not even sure the program was that funny, but laughing together like that was great.

I find it difficult to laugh out loud. I always laugh on the inside. I have never laughed until I cried though I may have cried because I wasn't able to laugh, though that is another story.

Laughter really is good for the soul and we should realize what's funny, amazing, and glad even in times of a financial crisis as we are in now.

I laughed really hard when I went trick or treating with my kid and some jerk was handing out pretzels and my kid said, "Pretzels? This sucks" I told him I agree, we threw the pretzels back at the homeowner and told other people to avoid that house. It was such a blast! Too funny. I guess humor is good medicine

Even babies find things funny. Sometimes you wonder what they can be laughing at because they have no life experience to base it on. It feels good to laugh.

There have been many times with Debnet where both of us have just laughed hysterically. The most memorable was when we were riding an open top bus in New York in torrential rain. We were getting soaked to the skin, but it was incredibly funny.
