Lavender – Health Benefits to me

Updated on May 29, 2019

I love Lavender, particularly Lavender Essential Oil and here are some ways I enjoy it and use it to calm the senses. Its refreshing aroma removes nervous exhaustion, restlessness and increases mental activity -reducing stress.

Lavender can be found in health/beauty products or used as an Essential oil for Aromatherapy.

Yardleys Lavender Bath

Bubble Bath

It’s that time of the year again when I indulge in long hot Bubble bath’s nearly every day as. It’s my way of keeping warm in winter.

My Favourite Bubble baths are Yardley and Radox Herbal bath with Lavender. I also put in a few drops of Lavender Essential oil as it’s tremondously relaxing. Experts say: when Essential oils are inhaled, they work on the brain and nervous system through stimulation of the olfactory nerves.

Sleeping

Most of the time, I put a few drops on my pillow. Lavender essential oil actually induces sleep and some people use it to treat insomnia. Once my head is on the pillow, you'll never find me counting sheep on the ceiling.

Oil Burner

Ps. When buying Lavender Essential oils, especially online. (as you can’t smell it before buying) Note Bulgarian Lavender Essential oil, actually smells much nicer than the normal Lavender Essential oil.

Burning Oils

A few drops in a Burner, gives the whole house a natural beautiful smell. Lavender has the Latin name Lavare, which means “to wash”; Lavender has antiseptic qualities. So, I am giving my home a clean aroma as well as relaxing my nerves.

Washing Up

OK. I’ve taken it a bit too far but sometimes I do like to use Lavender Washing up Liquid. My excuse – it motivates me to do the washing up. Also, like Lavender antibacterial wipes for the Kitchen. Maybe, I'm a Lavenderholic - if there is such a word.

There are many more Benefits of Lavender. It’s used for respiratory disorders, skin care, hair (lice). I won’t elaborate on them as you can read them on the Internet. Besides, I haven’t used them that way yet, but the points noted above are how I use it regularly and enjoy the benefits - Proven. I buy my Essential oils from Naturallythinking.com. Its very good quality and priced reasonably.

Full benefits of Lavender Essential oil are below and also if you want to try out others or read about there benefits. E.g Lemon oil, Jasmine oil, Orange oil etc. See link below.
