Let us hide our passion. Really it is not fair to have it and flaunt it.

Updated on June 4, 2014

I just cannot hide my passion for children and nature.

I looked and I saw it and I climbed it. Not me but passion got me over that cliff.

Truly step back and look at the damage you cause.

We do not feel your passion. We sleep during each day so that we can recline later. We are not helped by your fine and fancy notions and passion toward your causes. You wear us out and we do not need your sanctimonious passions. Hell we can hardly even get it together enough to finish the work of the day and yet you come out with all this energy. Where do you get off?

We suffer from malaise and yet you dance your thoughts and pump others up. Leave me alone. Go take your passion elsewhere. I am fed up with it. Let me be angry and upset and suffer from my depression you bastards of love and daring. Let me wallow in my self pity and in my lack of love. Let me not be instigated by your revelations of travesty and hopelessness corrected by hope. I want to sit here in my self pity pot and suffer.

Don't you see the crime. Those wallflowers need your lack of energy. We thrive off of it. We cannot be like you so we wilt. Take it easy on us.

Jimmy Buffet tells us: Life is just to short for some folks for other folks it just drags on Some folks like the taste of smokey whiskey and others think tea is too strong.

Well for some of us we would like it all excitement and bright lights ans smokey whiskey but we are just plain tuckered out.

I like 'em both. Not down the middle but extremes on either end.

Damn you, now you done it!!

I put on some music, my son is playing lead vocalist and organ and mouth harp. Damn him too! I am starting to move some feet and hell's bells and Cocker Shells my lungs are getting clearer and my mind is dancing like a pack of wolves happy at snow and a full moon. Now my feet are starting to move faster and my heart is beating a little more heavily and I gasp a good breath.

Don't you artists know to leave me alone. I need my pit of despair and you just lift me out of it with no regard for my insanity. I need to slink back down into my hole. This here shovel is not for filling but for digging my hole deeper and deeper.

Leave me be.

Odd that the "Passion" flower is used to induce sleep.

Happy days are here again?

Perhaps these words ring true.

I can see clearly now the rain is gone.
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
bright (bright) sunshiny day.
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
bright (bright) sunshiny day.

Oh, yes I can make it now the pain is gone.
All of the bad feelings have disappeared.
Here is that rainbow I've been praying for.
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
bright (bright) sunshiny day.

Don't lie to me, you have felt like that above. I feel you sister and brother. But hey now, let us live in love of life!

I hope you enjoyed that silly little parody of life.

But it is true that sometimes we just want to wallow in our own stew of self imposed grief. And art and impassioned people will bring us out of it. We just have to let it happen and stop fighting it.

Just yesterday morning someone told me that I had no right! I blinked twice took a deep breath and said "Andy what the hell are you talking about?" He said "preacher man you have a light and yet you put it under the basket so no one in the world can see it". Of course I asked him where he came up with such notions. And he said "you - you idiot!"

And so here is the point to this lengthy set up:

We are each given gifts in this world and that is a natural fact. We cannot run from that fact. We can try to hide those gifts but really we just end up making ourselves unhappy and dimming that wonderful light within us.

Of course there are natural chemical imbalances in the world and no one dismisses real hard depression, but usually we are putting just as much effort into digging a deep dark hole as we could be by filling it and climbing out.

Make no doubt of it. Much of passion and fervor and vitality is just plain hard work to keep the juices flowing in a positive direction. And if we turn that hard work into the negative we will receive the negative. So let us all get into the positive because the alternative just really stinks.

Nice one Eric. You always challenge us to look at ourselves and our perception of things. My major challenge at the moment is keeping up with reading the hubs of all the people I follow.I had 680 unread emails at the start of the day, and have currently got the number down to 500..anyway, good hub.

DSmizzle, I do not worry about such matters as privacy. My email is and if you want I will send you my phone number and address.

My passion has waned for a week or so. But starting soon I will do a hub a day again. Lately I have been honor bound to write for real money and it is very complex. (the honor is about making a living of course ;-)

Dora, just like getting this comment so long after the post, we just take the time to breath and relax, our choice.

G'Day Eric. Another great 'Hub, per usual! I was looking for a way to send you a "personal message" or whatever its equivalent might be on Hubpages, but there doesn't appear to be such a function.

Reason being is that I just wanted to pick your brain about 'Hubbing because you write 'Hubs that are not only well-written, but you're also prolific. Just had a few questions about that, the pro's and con's, etc.

If you'll humor me on this, please let me know if email works for you.

Yes sir, Eric. Seeing the brighter side where there isn't one is our responsibility. We might as well make the effort to see it. Thanks for making that clear.

You do keep me entertained, and while I'm being entertained, I'm forced to think about life. A double whammy!

A true artist can make the abyss feel like all heaven and vice versa. Otherwise what is the use of words. Words can do anything on earth ! Eric, I don't fear the guys, I fear their words. Wonderful display of words here, well done.
