Is There an Afterlife? A True Story
Is there a hereafter?
Is There an Afterlife?
I personally believe there is lan afterlife. however I have not a clue what that life is like. I had an experience 12 years ago--almost 2 years after my mother passed on that has led me to believe there is a hereafter.
My mother died in 1996, and when two years passed I certainly was not focused on expecting her to return. I have to admit I did look for clues right after she passed. I had a decent relationship with my mother and remember with fondness a wonderful childhood. Things changed when I became an adult and we had many challenges until she died. There are too many reasons to mention why we had problems and my purpose here is not to discuss our past relationship. So fasten your seatbelts, read on and you let me know whether or not you think she returned.
Strange things started happening around the house. At first I just brushed them off and thought I was just being forgetful.
- I put down one coffee cup and when I returned to the room there were two cups. My husband was upstairs so he couldn't have done this.
- A picture hanging on the wall was slanted--no big deal except it was in a place where no one passed by--I straightened the picture and the next time I looked--it was slanted again.
- I was looking for my glasses one day and dumped out my purse to find them as I was prone to just throwing them in my purse.--no glasses to be found. When I came back in the room I checked my purse again and there they were.
These are just a few of the things that happened. I tried talking to my mother and asking why she was moving everything. I also asked if she had a reason to return after two years.
While living in Houston,Texas I ran a gift basket business. I generally used a delivery service to deliver my baskets or my husband did this job. However I decided to do this particular delivery as my husband was out of town and I wanted to get out of my office. I was delivering a gift basket for the owner of The Aquarian Bookstore". It was a store that carried a huge inventory of occult related books plus spiritual and self-help books. While dropping the basket off I just happened to ask an employee if she knew of a person who could converse with the deceased. She did not know anyone who did, but said she would ask the owner when she returned.
I got a call about an hour later from the owner of the bookstore. She told me that a woman who came into the store only once a year to purchase a calendar, overheard them talking about channeling. She told the owner that she was able to channel to those who have passed on. She left her phone number and said it was okay for me to call. I called her and we set up an appointment to get together. It was interesting to me that she just happened to come into the store at that moment.
The chaneler came over to my office and noticed my cat pictures on the wall and she sort of laughed. The only questions she asked me about my mother was when had she passed away, and if I knew of any reason why she would return. I knew she was legitimate as she did not charge me money for the visit. She told me that my mother didn't like animals, especially cats. My mother hated cats. I did not give the channeler any clues about my mother's personality.
She then began "talking" to my mother. My mother felt she shouldn't have died because the stupid doctors didn't know how to treat her properly. She also told the channeler to apologize to me and my sister. She knew she did many wrong things wrong but felt she did the best she knew how to do.
She told the channeler that I should buy a small frame and put a special picture of her that I had. She told the channeler I would know what picture she meant. She wanted me to put a rose in front of it. My mother mentioned that I had very good taste and would pick a lovely frame. Now all of this may not seem like much. but I knew it was my mother. She used to always tell me what good taste I had and I could almost hear her saying these words. A few months went by and I was looking for holiday items for my gift basket business. I picked up a lovely frame and remembered what the channeler had said. I took it home and the picture I had of my mother fit in perfectly. I also had gold rose that was another purchase for my business. To this day the picture and rose sit on my desk. In fact I am looking at it right now.
She told me many other things and finally my mother got annoyed at the conversation and didn't understand why the channeler had sought her out. The channeler asked my mother why she didn't want to go to heaven as she was still in limbo, and my mother answered her by telling her that she hated all the relatives and didn't want to be near them. That was my mother!
The next day my husband came in from the garage and he was almost hyperventilating. We had boxes with bottled peppers in them left over from the holidays..They were open at the top like wine bottle boxes. These boxes were neatly turned upside down stacked on top of each other on the car. They did not fall as the would have shattered.
Several years later Jim came home from putting gas in his motorcyle and when he went into his pocket he noticed that his wallet was missing. He told me this as he entered the house. He went back to the store and it wasn't there. He bought a new wallet, cancelled credit cards and got a new driver's license. Two months later I went into my purse to get a credit card out. Now I did this a hundred times before this date. The wallet was sitting on top of everything in my purse. I felt goosbumps on my arms. And to top it off the day before I had totally dumped out my purse looking for something.
Actually there is no finale to my experience, as I am not sure what this all means. However, we were robbed while living in Florida and my husband's new wallet was stolen as well as my entire purse. Maybe she was warning us with hiding Jim's wallet in my purse.
No more strange things have happened since the last experience, well maybe occasionally--but I tend to brush them off. All in all it was quite an experience. Once in a while I do hear her call my name and loud enough for me to look up. The bottom line is whether you believe there is an afterlife.
