Life's Preoccupations

Life and the pursuit of riches

It is everyone's wish to be rich and successful. How do we measure this? How do we find our own success and riches? How do we achieve true success and happiness? Why is it for most of us we seem to have false hope? Why do we seem willing to throw money away in hopes of winning the state lottery jackpot? Why do we feel it is necessary to play the lottery? I know I have spent money or shall I say wasted money in the hopes of winning millions of dollars. Is this what life is all about? Is it that we want to aim for something we don't believe we can have by way of the conventional method? What is it about our lives that we feel unsatisfied. Will winning millions when you have nothing all of a sudden make you feel happy and good about yourself. It is very sad if we view our lives as incomplete unless we come into fortune. It is everyone's wish to have success and wealth. But at what cost do we hope to achieve this? It is true that some lucky people have won major lottery prizes but the odds of winning is so infinitesimally small that it is considered a waste of time and money. I don't want to ruin anyone's dream but this is not a dream in the sense of what a dream is supposed to be. This is more of a fantasy that will most likely never happen for us.

What does it take to be really successful in life and have vision and ideas that separates us from the rest of the crowd and brings us to another level? We all have such dreams but not many of us achieve that level of success because we don't have the drive necessary to fuel the passion. Did you ever wonder how someone was inspired by an idea that seemed to spark them and lead them to believe in the impossible and help them to dream big and aim for something that truly impacted them giving them the drive, the ambition, the passion, the heart and the courage to try, try and try again no matter what. We can spend our whole lives wondering what it takes to get to that next level and never ever get there because we just don't know how to implement a plan or we are not passionate about something. Most of us work a job and try our best to live happy and do all that we hope to in our life. This is what we come to expect in our life. We strive to find success and fulfillment in a career and look to our employment prospects based on our education and our experience. Once we find our way in the working world we then seek companionship in hopes of raisng a family and living our life doing all we can to provide a decent living.

For most of us working a job is a tremendous opportunity but for some it is a stepping stone to better things. Successful entrepreneurs wish to find their own opportunities and translate them into satisfying business ventures that create financial gain and allow for independence and personal expression. They want to go beyond what most of us do in our lives. They want to find passion in what they do. They want to be independent and find opportunity that they are inspired to create on their own. It is very rewarding to find something that interests you and allows you to make it through the hard work and dedication that an entrepreneur only knows. They are unique in that they want to have control of their own destiny. They want to make things happen through their own efforts and benefit in the growth of what they create.

If you can see it, then you can dream it. If you can dream it then you can envision it. If you can envision it then you can find the passion. If you can find the passion then you can conceptualize the idea. If you can conceptualize the idea then you can create your vision and maybe get to live out your dream. If you can live out your dream then you will find what true success is all about. We all would like to achieve such success in our own lives but only the ones who are not afraid to take risks, make mistakes, learn from them and continue on in their pursuits will have such a chance. I am amazed at the backgrounds of some of the most successful and affluent people who have rose above and found what they once dreamed about. You may know some of these people because they have become an everyday part of our lives.

We all heard of Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft; Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple computers and Pixar; Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook; Segey Brin, the founder of Google and Gurbaksh Chahal, the founder of several internet based marketing companies of which he sold Blue Lithium, one of his sites to Yahoo for $300 million in cash in his early 20's. We have benefited from these visionaries who saw what no one else had and realized that their ideas would be the next big thing. They believed it and they never lost sight of that as they encountered the ups and downs along the way. The most important thing in life is to truly believe in yourself and to have faith in all that you do and to never get down on your self no matter what. We are all taught early on in our lives that education and perseverance are key in our life and we should always enjoy learning and taking on challenges. We must also realize that we will make mistakes along the way and the best way to make advances is to always learn from them. In learning about these 5 successful and very influential people on this list it is amazing to realize that most of them with one exception left college without completing a degree and one of them was a high school dropout. This however never deterred them because they had a vision, a dream and the passion to run with it without turning back. They believed in themselves and what they envisioned and they would never lose sight of that. They are an inspiration and they are very gifted. We realize that we too can have a vision or a dream and though we may not become super successful like they have we too should not be afraid to dream, to believe and to try our very best.

In life we all must learn to be respectful, honest, dedicated, confident, hopeful, proud, happy and most of all believing that we can do anything we set our mind to. We must never ever give up on ourselves and we must always remember to teach our children this as well. We should hold on to our dream, our vision and our hope and learn to always be grateful, peaceful and happy for we only have this gift of life for a finite amount of time and then it will be gone.

Live and do as God has expected of us all.
