Lose Weight Faster With A Detox Diet

Updated on June 9, 2010

Why detoxification is important.

In the environment we live in today, we all surrounded with pollutants that build toxins in our bodies. What creates these toxins are air pollution, pesticides, chemicals from factories, smoking and even a diet that is high in processed foods. We inhale and ingest toxins daily. The human body is an amazing creation and has natural ways to expel toxins through our skin and digestive system, however when the toxins build up, the body can no longer function properly. In this day and age we need to help our body and perform a detox diet or a cleanse a couple times a year, so we can keep our energy levels up and make sure that the digestive system is doing it's proper job by getting rid of harmful toxins. So in the environment we live in today the most important thing we can do a side from a healthy lifestyle is to perform a detox diet yearly.

What are toxins?

This could be the first time that you are reading about toxins so I will briefly explain what they are and how our body naturally eliminates them.

Toxins are chemicals that cause harm to the body's organs, cells, skin and daily functions. There are two groups of toxins. The first one is called Endotoxins. These toxins are created internally from undigested foods. The second type of toxins are called Exotoxins, which are created from outside sources. These toxins are ingested or inhaled into the body. Examples would be cigarette smoke, air pollution, chemicals, alcohol and food additives.

How the body eliminates toxins?

The human body has seven channels of elimination.

These channels include: Skin, liver, kidneys, colon, blood, lungs and lymphatic system. They all have their separate ways of eliminating toxins from the body.

Signs That You Need A Detox Diet

There are many different ways that our body warns us that we have a toxin build up with in. If these small warning signs are ignored then more chronic illness are to be expected in the future.

These warning signs are:

  • Low on energy
  • Over or under weight
  • Constipation
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Allergies
  • Insomnia
  • Acne, skin problems

How a Detox Diet Can Help You Lose Weight

There are so many benefits of a detox diet. Apart from increased overall health a detox diet will help you jump start weight loss. It also will help you maintain a healthy weight after the fact.

Eliminating toxic overload from your body will:

  • Aid absorption of vitamins and minerals
  • Increase natural energy levels
  • Improve overall digestive health
  • Improve mental clarity

All of these factors together are important for a healthy weight loss and helps the body lose weight faster. Improved energy levels will help with motivation and having the energy to start an exercise program. Even just the energy to play with your kids/ grand kids or get out and do an activity that you love. Absorption of vitamins and minerals is very important and will help for healthy weight loss. When the digestive system is running properly the body will expel more waste efficiently which causes the stomach to look smaller and aids in colon health. Mental clarity will help in all areas in life including weight loss.

How To Perform A Detox Diet

There are three ways to perform a detox diet. One is by performing a juice cleanse. The second way is by eating cleansing foods such as fruits and vegetables. And the third is by ingesting a herbal pill for one, two or four weeks.

My favorite way to perform a detox diet is by taking herbal cleansing pills. They are safe, all natural and easier for the average busy person. There are many different herbal pills out on the market and many are very effective however if you are reading this article then I know you are interested in losing weight. After much research I have found a cleanse that has been used for years by the Hollywood Stars to help them get into great shape for an up coming movie and to keep their energy levels up so they can keep up with their demanding schedule.

This detox diet is called The Lemonade Weight Loss Diet.

What is The Lemonade Weight Loss Diet

I will provide you with a link for this product so that you can do some more research on it so in this article I will only briefly explain what it is.

It is an a natural pill that is includes all the ingredients of the famous celebrity master cleanse. The Master Cleanse is a drink made up of pure maple syrup, fresh lemon juice, cayenne pepper and pure water. To perform this cleanse you would make this drink and ingest only this drink for two weeks. No food! For the average person that would be very hard.

Thankfully The Natural Products Association thought to create an easier way to perform the celebrity Master Cleanse by creating the Lemonade Weight Loss Diet.

So the Lemonade Weight Loss Diet is a pill that contains all the ingredients of the Master Cleanse, but in easy pill form. Along with the pill you will receive an exercise and eating plan to create amazing results. They promote that anyone can lose up to 17 pounds in 14 days.

That would definetly jump start anyones motivation and weight loss. Now I am not saying that you will lose 17 pounds in 14 days, but you could lose up to that much. Even 10 pounds would make anyone happy.

People are raving about this detox diet and has been a favorite Hollywood supplement.

Symptoms You May Experience During A Detox Diet

While the built up toxins are being released by the body you may experience some of these symptoms. These symptoms are usually only for the first couple days. They are only temporary and will go away.

  • Headache
  • General sick feeling
  • Gastrointestinal upset
  • Gas
