Lose Weight Fast With the Lemonade Diet
The lemonade diet is a fast way to lose weight to get ready to be on the beach in a swimsuit. Beyonce lost 20 pounds in 10 days using the master cleanse lemonade fast or lemonade diet. The trick to it is that you are not consuming anything else except for the lemonade. This was written April 2011.
Unlike a fast, you can go do it with a regular lifestyle where you are working a demanding job. Some people do it for 30 days but it is more common for it to be done for 10 days or for 3 to 5 days for losing weight. The lemonade diet is healthy for you since you avoid all other food.
They have a salt water flush that is done with it but I recommend against using since it is not healthy and is dangerous. Also it is not needed. It is to cleanse the colon but the colon will cleanse itself. Or you can take an enema which is much safer, if you want. Also the salt water flush can cause the diet to not work since your body may take in some of the salt.
If you search the internet you can find different people who report getting permanent damage from it. The reason that it gives for the solution going into the colon instead of being digested is that it is similar to what is in the blood. Well if it is nutrients that the body needs then it would digest it. But the body gets rid of it. This webpage has the Salt Water Flush Dangers and Precautions. It says:
- kills all beneficial intestinal bacteria
- can overwork the kidneys as they attempt to regulate the sodium level in the blood, which has just been dramatically thrown off balance.
- excess sodium the kidneys can't eliminate quickly enough, accumulates in the blood, essentially "thickening" the blood, making the heart work harder and causing your blood pressure to rise.
- causes electrolyte imbalances
There are more but I say do not do it. I have some good news about salt for you. It is only one-third as toxic as arsenic. That is according to the LD-50 chart that tells about the relative toxicity of toxins. It is 10 times more toxic than refined sugar. Also salt causes all high blood pressure. See on above webpage the 5 minute video by Michael Greger M.D. where he shows how salt kills over 1,000 Americans per day. Is salt a carb, protein or a fat? It is not a food. Yes iron nails and rust are a good sources of iron but they are not foods. Chalk is a good source of calcium but it is not a food. If you put 4 ounces of salt and put it in water and drink it, you will die. That is what the LD-50 says and a guy made a bet that he could drink it without dying. He died.
Please note that there is no miracle in the lemons or the maple syrup. The miracle is your body. By not giving it all these things that clog it up and makes it work hard, is abuse. So the benefits you get doing this cleanse, diet or fast are from not abusing it for a while. Note that it is always the body that heals itself.

They also list benefits of doing it. Most do it to lose weight since so many are overweight. But many do it for other benefits. I was never overweight but I did it for 5 days for the health benefits. Note that I feel that the weight lost is mostly water weight due to all the salt you are retaining. The lemonade diet removes this excess salt. Make no mistake about it. Water weight is uglier than fat and is also unhealthier. But it is is to dilute the toxic substance that is not a food known as salt. Then they will also use different teas which are fine to drink. There is nothing magical about the lemonade diet. The secret is that you are not eating any other food. Also since it has no salt in it the body can get rid of its excess salt and lose water weight. That is how people can lose weight so fast. After this lemonade diet or master cleanse, it is up to you to eat healthier foods so you do not gain the weight back again. Here is the lemonade diet recipe or the way that you make it. Try to use distilled, purified or deionized water since these are pure water. It is better, but not essential, to get organically grown lemons or limes.
How to Make It
Put 2 tablespoons or 1 fluid ounce of fresh squeezed lemon or lime in an 8 fluid ounce glass of water. Add 2 tablespoons (1 fluid ounce) organic Grade B maple syrup. Add 1/10th teaspoon of cayenne pepper. This pepper is hot so if it is too hot then use less.
The cayenne pepper is very good for circulation, heart health and cardiovascular health but the diet will still work without it. Again there is nothing magic about these ingredients. The magic is that you are not eating anything. You can make a quart of this lemonade or limeade by just multiplying the above by 4 and then you can refrigerate it. This formula was originally developed for health not for weight loss.
Cayenne pepper is very nutritious and is very high in vitamin C. It also helps the body to detoxify itself, has been used to prevent migraine headaches, helps body to produce saliva, helps digestion, helps to relieve pain in joints, helps people to lose weight.
