Lucid Dreaming, Help with this one?
Well, here you have it. I had another lucid dream. What follows are the details I remember and how I felt about the details or what I was thinking in my dream. I have not added any thoughts or analysis upon waking for I haven't done any of my own analysis yet. I'll save that for later, since last time all of you had such great insights to my dreams. This one is a bit harder, as it is loaded with imagery. There were a million things I saw, I only highlighted the ones I paid attention to or stuck with me upon waking and long enough to write it down. The colors were phenomenal. Very rich colors of gemstone fabrics like amethyst, ruby reds, sapphires, emerald greens, topaz yellows and the glittering of gold and silver. The foliage in the dream was phenomenal as well. I wish I was an artist and could recreate images that I dream. Here you are, have fun and thanks in advance. Also, as in any dream, I realize there are inconsistencies and errors in fact - i.e. I know there are not twin hillside stranglers - but hey, its just a dream and not any reflection on my correct recollection of history. :) I look forward to your feedback. Namaste, Erin
The cold case file...
I was trying to solve an old case file, a murder that happened in the late eighteenth century.
It was a gorgeous time in the past, which personally I loved. I had a guide. A tall thin man, dressed finely in period dress, a fine brocade vest and a gorgeous suit. He was approximately 70 years old and his hair was dyed black. He walked me through the door of a large manor house that looked somewhat like the entrance to Mr. Darcy’s residence in Pride and Prejudice. Then the man said, “you really can’t appreciate what this place was like in those days, and how easily it would have been for that murder to have been committed during the day-long masquerade without notice unless you experienced all that was going on. You see, there was so much to look at; …”
As he was speaking, the empty house was slowly filling. Pictures, tapestries, rugs, flowers were appearing out of nowhere. People started appearing one by one and when he would open door to another room, it would be more elegant and diverse than the next. And the music, I heard rich hauntingly beautiful symphony music throughout this entire dream until it changed…
“It was the evening of the masquerade ball, you see…” the women had on rich beautiful full ball gowns, some slimming gowns, but all were in rich fanciful colors and they all either had elaborate headpieces that covered half their faces or carried an elegant mask on a stick. There were circus clowns, peacocks, animals of all sorts, lots of black devils or vampiresses. Some were dresses as ladies of the court, stage performers, witches, goddesses, and things of that sort – but they passed by me quickly – I didn’t have time to take it all in, for he was talking and soon we were off into an outdoor area.
This next area seemed to be the center of the house, a large rectangular stepped garden area with walkways to each area of the mansion and at once I noticed how large this house actually was. Upstairs seemed to be the private rooms, downstairs all the public rooms and from the exposed French doors all along the patios opening into this area; they all seemed to be full. My mind was creating more and more people and more detailed scenes. Men, both young and old, in fine suits were swinging in on drapes with swords and my guide said “Everyone who was anyone in those days was at this party. Whether you were new money or old money or trying to hold onto the money your family used to have…daughters were here with their parents in search of suitors. The men were courting. The married couples had their own agendas; women, to play some games, and their men, games in business or perhaps something else…” and he’d trail off again
We turned then a corner and headed down a wide grey stone stair into the garden. I noticed some green shrubbery in between the stone walkways. “No!” he said sternly, “this simply won’t do! This is not how it was that night!” And we walked down two more steppes and I turned around to watch the garden come alive. In between the shrubbery grew large green leaves with bold giant exotic white flowers. Everything started to bloom, there were different species everywhere from golden bright yellows, deep deep blues, vibrant bright pinks, snow white and the most gorgeous shades of green leaves. Vines and trees appeared. All kinds of topiary delights appeared as grand statues of both the Greek and Roman style. It was the most amazing garden I had ever seen, with at least twenty pathways leading to different parts of the house all illuminated now by some unseen source, lanterns, rocks, fires. I was mesmerized. Even fountains bubbled up in the oddest places.
My guide took my hand, and looking down I noticed that even I was dressed now in period costume. I had on a gown of the brightest blue sky with shimmering silver diamonds in the long skirt. My long gloves were dotted with white pearls. The top of my dress changed color gradually into the most beautiful shades of turquoise and green and my bodice was decorated with tiny seashells. There was a half mask on my face but I could not see it. “Come my dear, you are the Caribbean Sea tonight. As I said, there are too many suspicious people here…” Jack the Ripper walked by, in costume. Two men swung in when they saw us, blazing with swords and pretending to duel. I realized that most men carried swords tonight. “The twin hillside stranglers” , my companion said.
Just then tiny shoes caught my attention. There must have been a thousand of them in the garden…all lined up in a pattern and crossing with a click one by one. They seemed so sweet and also seemed to be leading somewhere. This is when the music changed. The music then sounded more like an upbeat positive song from the swing era, yes, it was a song you could swing dance to and the thousands of shoes were clicking right along. At times they would be in rows and go back and forth, like the stripes on the flag and I could just sit and watch; at other times they would seem to be leading me somewhere like falling dominoes. I tried explaining this to the man who was my guide but he just said that it was my case and I had to follow my own leads.
I followed them upstairs and into a bedroom. Through a closet they went and around a bed, even over the lap of a stuffed animal and circled there on the floor for a while.
I woke up in the middle of all of this – following the
clicking shoes stuff with swing music still playing in my head. Oh, and as an aside, the shoes were just little shoes that started out side by side, then would end up crossing each other at the toe, making a clicking sound. No, there were never any feet in them. Just rows and rows and miles of shoes - I've never been a show collector.
So my wonderful dream-interpreting friends….what say you about this lucid dream???
Love and Peace!
