Why in the world would you want to make yourself sneeze? The only people who can answer that question are the ones who want to – and maybe their mother because mothers are supposed to know everything about their children. Regardless of your reason for wanting to how to make yourself sneeze, this hub will outline a few useful tips on how to initiate a mighty explosion!

1. How to make yourself sneeze by touching yourself

That sounded dirty but it isn’t really. One good way to make yourself sneeze is to actually stimulate your nose somehow and tickle an area around it to get the desired result. You can take a tissue, turn a corner of it so it hovers just outside your nostril. The subtle touch of the tissue against the inside of your nose will tickle you to produce a wonderfully cathartic “achooo!”

Another “touch” technique you can use is to get a pair of tweezers and pull out a hair from the inside of your nostril. This can work but it’s a bit painful. The good thing is, if you tried the tissue corner method above, then you have something to wipe your tears with. This will also work if you try tweezing an eyebrow hair out. The nerves are linked to the inside of your nose. So tweeze, tickle, sneeze and cry your little hearts out ladies and gentlemen.

2. Experiment with food and drinks to spark a sneeze

Different types of food and beverages can help make yourself sneeze as well. Some people sneeze immediately after eating some very rich chocolate. Make sure the cocoa percentage is high and it can be very effective. If you have a coughing fit then make sure you avoid chocolate because you don’t want to have a coughing fit, but if you enjoy it and want to keep doing it you should see a doctor -- one for your mind too.

Try chewing gum that has a strong minty flavor. Even candies or mints can bring on a strong sneeze so go down to the corner store and grab a fresh pack of Altoids! They can do more things than just freshen nasty breath. Mints are great for sneezing addicts too and you don’t even need a prescription to understand how to make yourself sneeze with ease!

3. Other tricks to make yourself sneeze

Bright lights can also make yourself sneeze if you look into them. It’s not great for your eyes but if you value sneezing over your vision, go right ahead! Sunlight can also bring on a sneeze or two, but don’t look at the sun directly. You really don’t want to damage your eyes – seriously.

Another technique is to radically change the temperature around you, then breath in through your nose. For instance, stick your head in your fridge or freezer for a few seconds, pull it out and inhale deeply through your nose. You will be sneezing in no time! If your family asks what you are doing, just say you forgot your medication again.

If none of these techniques are working for you then maybe it’s best not to sneeze. Maybe you were never born to be a sneezer. Surely, there are lots of other things in the world you are good at so don’t get too down on yourself. However, if you must make yourself sneeze at all costs, try sticking your nose in a pepper shaker and one day it will happen for you.
