Various Stages Of Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Currently there is no established staging system for peritoneal mesothelioma. But in accordance with TNM system peritoneal mesothelioma is classified into different stages.

First stage shows localized lesion able to be completely removed. In the second category of peritoneal mesotheliom include, the disease is contained with abdominal cavity on peritoneal and organ surfaces where debulking (the removal of as much, but not all of the tumor) is possible.

Some mesothelioma specialist explained that peritoneal mesothelioma can be classifid into four stages. The least or beginning or stage 1 include when the tumor has not spread and can be completely removed from surgery.THe next stage is when cancer cells are spread to periconal and organ surfaces. And treatment for peritoneal mesothelioma for this stage by surgery will result only in debulking of tumor.Malignant tissue cannot be removed by surgery. The last or most deadly part of peritoneal mesothelioma is when the cancers cells spread to other internal organs like lymph nodes. This is the last stage of peritoneal mesothelioma and is difficult to treat.
