Menopause and sex lfe
So I went through the beginning stages of menopause at 44, I really thought the first few months of my skipped periods that I was actually pregnant! It all started as a very scary time for me I had not been using birth control for years, so the first two months of missing my period I bought those over the counter pregnancy tests, I was really worried that at 44 I was going to be pregnant, I had 3 kids already and was not ready for the results! Much to my surprise it was negative, so after month 2 I went to see my ob-gyn and he of course wanted to run all kinds of tests to mae sure there wasn't something else going on. So after months of testing and still no period he finally said I do believe you are going through menopause! I was shocked at first but he said until you have missed your period for one full year we can't say for sure thats really what it is! I just knew I had some kind of cervical cancer or something else was wrong! So began the hot flashes, the night sweats, the crankiness, the weight gain and I knew for sure that it was indeed menopause!! I was just wondering why it happened to me so young, it just wasn't normal! I spoke to my mom who went through menopause at 48 and then I understood a little better. I have noticed now at 52 that I still have hot flashes at times and have never lost the weight i gained and its hard to even lose a few pounds now. The one thing I don't like is my lack of sex drive!! My husband at first was understanding about it but now he just seems really frustrated with me! It's not that sex isn't good when I do get in the mood for it but that's the problem I am never in the mood! My doctor offered to give me hormone drugs but I didn't lie the side affects so I chose not to go that route. So as of today my poor husband has to hound me a lot to have sex and he does understand that its a medical issue and not my attraction for him. It is not an easy life (life after menopause) but I am still looking for my late in life PRIME to kick in, until then he will keep begging and I will still sleep with the fan on!!
After a few years the symptoms seemed to subside,it was finally nice to be able to sleep all night long. The only thing I do find is I can't lose any weight and I don't gain any either, I guess this is a good thing although I would like to get back my girlish figure. I also find that sex is more enjoyable now! I still don't have an overwhelming se drive like I used to but at least I do have one now! I do find as I am getting older that other things start to flare up, sore legs, aching fingers, achy back but all in all its not so bad! I made it through menopause so I guess I can make it through this too!
