Tinted Glasses Offer Migraine Relief!
Migraines? The Impact of Tinted Glasses
In a study recently published in Cephalalgia, researchers at Michigan State University found that those who experienced a "visual aura" or intense light flashes before suffering a migraine may benefit from precision tinted lenses.
The lenses work by normalizing brain activity when the person experiences visual auras, etc. The downside is that these lenses must be custom-made for each patient.
Migraines and Research: Tinted Lenses
In a small study, it was found that people who suffered from migraines and wore the lenses had 70% less pain than those who didn't wear them.
The study was conducted by using fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) technology, which was able to gauge the level of abnormal brain activity when a migraine sufferer experienced visual auras, etc. while wearing the special lenses.
