Migraines, the quick fix

Updated on June 23, 2012

So you suffer from migraines and the medicine just doesn't seem to work properly. Well, I too suffer from chronic migraines. I go blind in one eye, get dizzy, and all that goes with it. I used to take Imitrex, but it just didn't work for me. The key to a lot of prescription migraine medicine is to take it just as you feel the migraine coming on. well, if your like me, and maybe you aren't, but almost always you don't know your having a migraine until its too late. The meds don't work and your stuck with a horrible, crippling head throb and pressure, ohh jeez its just unbearable!!!!

My case is very odd. See I didn't know I suffered from migraines until I was around seventeen. One day, I was at school, staying late for detention for some reason, but that is a different story. Anyway, I was late for detention, and my mom called my cell phone asking when I would be home, or maybe I called her. See there is the effects of what my migraines did to me. Needless to say, I was on the phone with my mom and I told her that I literally couldn't see out of my right eye. It was like something just blocked it, At the time I was driving a very nice 1978 Chevy Camaro Z-28, metallic blue and built to impress. Of course, being the one more concerned for the safety of my car than my own self, I told her what was going on and that i would be late coming home. Well, my mom is a get things done kind of woman and around 4 hours later when I just couldn't take it anymore, I drove home, slowly, well, as slowly as my car would allow. When i got through the door, she ordered me into her car and without telling me, she brought me to the doctor. Im not saying I was one of those stubborn kids, I just never saw the point of going to the doctor unless it was an emergency. This did not seem like an emergency. At the doctor, I underwent test after test, and finally, my doctor said that I suffer from chronic migraines and that I should have been completely immobile from the pain. Ehh, it didn't bother me, just the blindness was more of an inconvenience. However, they did start to get worse as I got older. Now, apparently, they are bad enough where if gone untreated, they can cause a stroke. Something had to be done. I started Imitrex. It never worked. Mostly because i could not feel a migraine until it was bad enough where My senses were being affected. Here is my solution.

One day I decided to try Advil Migraine. I just so happened to be drinking a redbull when I took it and let me tell you, light came down from the heavens, everything came into focus and I WAS CURED!!!! I have not done any real research, but a migraine is NOT just a headache. Most people say that migraines can be caused by caffeine and whatever, but the active ingredient in migraine medicine is CAFFEINE. It helps to speed up blood flow throughout the brain or whatever it does and apparently brings the swelling down. Either way, It worked. It doesn't seem to work with coffee very well, but Redbull and Advil Migraine works almost instantly. My theory on this, seeing as though the active ingredient in the Advil Migraine is Caffeine, redbull being made of mostly caffeine fortifies and speeds up the process. Im also pretty sure that some of the other supplements in Redbull like taurine may also help to enforce the caffeine action.

Also, based on research, it would seem that redbulls effects ultimately cause better reaction time and prevent drowsiness. Both of which are majorly performed by the brain where migraines are. So, it would be common sense that the active ingredients in redbull would in fact support the active ingredients in migraine medicine.

There is my advice for getting rid of a migraine quickly. I recommend 2 Advil Migraines and the small can of redbull. After all the stuff isn't all that great fr you, and you don't want to over do it.

I have bad migraines too. Coffee and caffeinated sodas make it worse along with Excedrin and Advil but for some reason. A 7.5 oz can of Red Bull makes my head feel like it's being massaged from the inside. The pain and pressure is gone along with my vision back to normal before I finish the can.

Suffered from migraines my entire life and this is the vest cure. I randomly took a redbull and excedrin while I had a migraine and within twenty minutes it was gone. I've been doing this for 4 years and it works every time.

I will keep these tips in mind. I also suffer from migraines, but my symptoms are not as severe as yours. Redbull is awesome, but I'm already hyper as it is. Lol.

      Voted up useful!
