My 5 Motivational Quotes

Updated on February 3, 2013
In this vast world, I struggle without ever giving up.
In this vast world, I struggle without ever giving up.

One doesn't really make use of quotes often. They come across it, find it meaningful and share it with others, and that is usually the end of it. We don't tend to use it much because we are all busy with our lives more or less and forget all about the quotes and sometimes not even remember them.

I'm one such case. I love reading these quotes. They are motivational, inspirational and uplifting. But I can't seem to remember much at all. Thus, here are a few that I do remember and make use of in my daily life or when I am in a slump. Hope these uplift you as they do me.

The first to apologise is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest and the first to forget is the happiest.- I always think of this when I'm angry at someone or even myself. If we stay angry and think about things too long, we are definitely not going to be too happy as we will be overthinking. Unfortunately, I'm not sure who said this as I found this on a link.

Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything. - George Bernard Shaw- I agree with this. Sometimes, we need to change our minds before we can change anything about our lives. If not, we will just be where we have always been.

You will not be punished for your anger; you will be punished by your anger - Buddha- A great saying. If you're not in control of your anger, one day, you'll regret because of it. You can be angry. No one is saying you can't. Everyone has a right to be. But learn to control your anger. Don't let it control you.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. - Eleanor Roosevelt- Only your thinking of things will make it that way. It is amazing to know that people can only hurt you if you allow them to. Of course, you have to believe it first.

Without hard work, nothing grows but weed. - Gordon B. Hinckley - It's more or less the same as you reap what you sow. So work hard.

These are quotes that I do remember, although I don't remember who said them so I had to do some research to find out. There are of course, many more out there, to pull you out from that slump. But these 5 remained embedded in my mind. I forget sometimes the exact words of course, but I more or less can understand what it means. Hope you like them and do share those that you make use of as well. This particular quote is one I made for myself when I was still studying in my teens. If they can do it, so can I.
