My Faith,My Love

The first time I gave birth,
I had a beautiful son,
that DAY I looked into his Face,
and seen a ANGEL.
I took him home
Without a father it wasn't easy,
somehow we made it,
it was he and I against the world.
Then little trucks Little boy stuff
then to church and to bible school,
little hands together in prayer,
everything falling into place.
Started reading and learned alot
"gifted and talented" they said,
projects of volcanos and algebra,
whirlwind seconds turned into years.

Becoming a MAN
Went to College, was excellent in his studies,
and over time his way of thinking became different.
He said the words carelessly,
"He was an ATHEIST!" To Me; His words did not evaporate, instead it went into the air, it burst and bled helplessness Like a black cloud,
It hovered and lingered, Unknowingly to him it LAID heavy there,
into the heart that loved him.
I made him promise that if he knew the end was near and if he had time,
would he just have the thought of God in his heart and mind.
He grinned a condescending "YES",
I felt foolish in some way,
as his mother I meant no harm,
I was thankful just for that.
He came by the other morning,
just like any other day,
but when I glanced at him
instead I seen the PAST.
Instead I seen a little boy,
with the same little hands in prayer, THIS DAY I looked into his Face,
and seen a ANGEL.
Have you ever have a story that NAGS at you? This is a true story and this was in my heart, and it's like therapy to SHARE it on HubPages, mainly because I feel safe here on HP.

A child fearfully and wonderfully made. Great poem!
Lovely poem which you told so well. I admire your writing style and the way you tell the story. Great hub.
Wonderful story Dee, and you expressed it so well.
I believe that too. Everything is scientific with him. He believes in evolution only. There is proof of evolution, but i believe it evolved from God's plans. He calls that blind faith.. Take care..Cheers
I am now following you, so we will get to share..Cheers my new friend..
Hello Dee, It seems that i can relate to your story. I have a Grandson who is an Atheist. No amount of discussion will change his mind. He is super intelligent, straight A student. Hopefull they both will become believers. Thank you for sharing your story..
Beautifully crafted poem! Well done Dee42 :) I can see that he's a faithful and intellectual child. Please write more!
This is so sweet Dee and the pictures are lovely matching perfectly with the sentiments of the poem. Children really are a blessing and it is even better when we treat them as though they are. Sounds like you two have a close relationship.
