My personal introspection

Introspection

A moment to reflect

No man is an island but sometimes we need to be alone so we can be in tune with our thoughts, our ideas, our dreams and our hopes. We know ourselves best and only we can go to a place that provides us peace, allows us to reflect and brings us comfort. We all have stress in our lives and we have to find ways to cope and deal with the daily demands that pull us in so many different directions. I believe many of us wish we could do more in our lives and achieve true independence. What does independence mean to me? I have always wished I could escape the dependence I have on borrowing which I believe most of us have to rely on. If I had a home completely paid for I believe my life would be far different and I would be much happier. I would be in a much better position to save for my future and the future of my family but with a mortgage it is very hard to save and this is a very frustrating situation to be in. It seems we spend most of our lives behind the "8 ball" trying to catch a break and hoping to somehow crawl out from under the debts we have grown so accustomed to. The sad reality is most of us have no choice but to enslave ourselves to the banks and credit card companies who encourage us to go deeper and deeper into debt. For them it is easy to entrap us and it seems they have no conscience as they rake us over the coals charging exorbitant interest rates effectively making it impossible to get out of debt.

Having a good outlook is always important when we encounter situations and circumstances that test us and make us question ourselves. We must learn to look at the good in everything and remember that no matter how upset or disappointed we may become we must never let it get us down. We have to challenge ourselves to rise above it all and be strong and dedicated to ourselves and our families. We have to be our biggest cheer leader and learn to think positive and act with good judgement. Sometimes our thinking may become clouded and we will feel weak and desperate. That is the time we must summon our strength, emotionally and mentally and stay true to our inner self. We all have an inner child that defines who we are and we must nurture, love and protect that inner child so we can experience our life as we were meant to.

If we asked our peers what is most important to them I'm sure we would get responses that are fairly similar to ours. I believe we all need to make a list of what is most important to us and we need to keep it tucked away in a safe place for future reference so we never lose sight of it. I would have to say that there are no questions as to what is most important to me. I always view family as the highest priority and the welfare of our children is most important. When we raise a child we must learn to love, protect and respect them as individuals and as our precious baby we once held in our arms with great joy. Our children learn from us and we must fulfill our role as parent with passion, love, understanding and a dedication that can not be rivaled.

We all have a dream to have an idea that will change the destiny of our lives and take it in a direction that allows us to live empowered and with confidence and financial success. We all want to have more money than we know what to do with but the reality is we may not find that exact road to success. We may find a detour that takes us a longer time to achieve what we hope to and when we take on additional responsibilities such as family and we strive for the house, the car, the education we we may lose the free spirit that typifies our youth. We have to evaluate our situation and take a route we feel most comfortable with. We may become more conservative in our approach and less willing to take on risk that we can afford more to do when we are younger. The dichotomy here though is when we are young we tend to be less experienced and may not have the know how or confidence to be so free spirited.

I sometimes wonder how some can achieve fame, fortune, prominence, celebrity, brilliance, respect and true happiness in their life. It seems that many live lives of quiet desperation and the gifted few live lives we can only dream of. I wonder what it is that separates the two. I believe most everyone hopes to find happiness in their life and they are content with who they are and the accomplishments they make and the people they surround themselves with. We may not all become millionaires but if we live a meaningful life and we provide the best we can for our family who mean the world to us and who we love and we try always to do our very best we will find our own happiness. We can not equate happiness with wealth but ideally we all would love to have money and no financial worries.

As we go through the many stages of life we always need to think ahead and plan for our future and our families future. We must always be thinking of how best to protect our families, especially our children because we will not live forever and we want to have peace of mind that our spouse and children will always be protected and for most of us it is very important that we consider the things we may not wish to think about but really must if we are to achieve this. Life insurance is certainly one of the major considerations we will need to incorporate into our family budget to achieve this form of protection.

As we age we will encounter many emotions and will have the typical ups and downs but we must always remember that we have family relying on us and we can not be lost to our own feelings of self doubt. We must always think of who is most important to us and the answer will always be our family and our children and we will live our lives for our children because they give us great joy and the courage to face another day.

When I am alone with my thoughts these are the things I think about. It is always my intention to be the very best husband and father I can be and I will always try to be the best person I can be because life is meant to enjoy and share with others. It is not perfect but it is beautiful and we all should be thankful for it. We only have one life to live and we should make the most of it and we need to be spiritual and have a deep abiding faith in God and Jesus who have bestowed this wonderful gift upon us.
