Stomach ache due to indigestion is quite common. At times digestive juices are not properly secreted causing indigestion. Overeating, physical and mental pressures can cause indigestion. Digestion upsets may cause heart burn (acid reflux), stomach bloating, gas along with stomach ache. There are quite a few home remedies for indigestion. Herbal remedies like gentian root, peppermint, turmeric and aloe vera are quite effective to improve digestive health.

Gentian Root

Gentian root tastes bitter. It is an anti inflammatory astringent and gastric stimulant herb. It improves your appetite and also the digestive system. It is used as a liver tonic. It improves the digestive health by strengthening the stomach lining and intestines. Gentian root tea and tincture can be prepared. Gentian root stimulates the taste buds and improves the flow of gastric juices, bile and saliva. It is an effective natural indigestion remedy. People with duodenal or gastric ulcer should not take this herb.
