Why I bought a Gel Mat in the First Place
One of the most high traffic areas in my home is my kitchen. We do a lot of cooking at home. We cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner. On top of that, we load and unload the dishwasher. Plus I do a lot of dishes by hand. I am doing a lot of standing in the kitchen. I noticed a few months ago that my lower back was bothering me, and my guests noticed it too. Most recently my mother, and then my mother in law.

My first Mat Purchased for My Kitchen
So this is the location in my kitchen where I stand the most. I purchased this gel mat in July 2012, and I am very happy that i finally got this mat. This is a high traffic location where I am :
- doing dishes
- loading and unloading the dishwasher
- juicing every morning
- getting dishes
I bought the 72" mat because it is long enough so that I can access about 3 cabinets and my counter top, dishwasher and my juicer. All three very important things in my kitchen. The color is awesome as well because it goes well with the terra cotta I have for the floor. The mat is ultra comfortable, and I notice that my feet don't start hurting as i have standing for long periods of time.

Second Gel Mat That I purchased for my kitchen
In August 2012, I finally got a mat for my 2nd most traffic location in my kitchen: in front of my butcher block cutting board and my cook top. This one I purchased is 4 ft long. This one is longer in width, so that i can use both sides of my kitchen: my cutting board and my cooktop. Again this gel mat is very comfortable. Great if you have any type of foot pain or lower back pain.

- don't use a vacuum cleaner with rotating brushes on the mat
