I challenge all of you hubbers to try this patience challenge. How much patience do you think you have? Remember the saying ,"slow and steady wins the race"? Well that is the gist of this hub. For so long I have had no patience whatsoever, but as I have grown up and slowed down a bit I have learned to have more and more patience with untolerable people and situations.
So here is the challenge: For one week :
-Can you not make negative judgement on another human being?
-Can you think only positive thoughts about every other human being no matter how you have felt about them in the past?
-Can you think of things you love about your life?( even if you feel challenged at the moment)
-Can you smile even when your sad?
-Can you be happy when you are driving? (even when traffic is horrific)
I think if you can do any of the above for at least one week than you will have learned some form of patience and actually improve your mental health. I know sometimes people give themselves high blood pressure and many other health problems by not having patience. If you can stop thinking negatively and focus your mind and energy on positive things about the situations that show up for you in your life, then you can have a more peaceful and enjoyable life. So for instance if you would put classical music or relaxing music(whatever that is for you) on during a bad traffic jam it will not seem as horrible. It will divert your mind from being so angry about the traffic jam and think of better things right in that moment. When you are feeling sad you can somehow think of something good even in a sad situation and make yourself smile even for just a moment. Like an inside joke that you have with yourself, then it diverts your mind for just a moment. Also thinking about others in a more positive light , no matter how much you dislike them. For just one moment put yourself in their shoes and try and see things from their perspective and you'll feel maybe a little more compassionate about them. I do know this is a challenge but if you want to help yourself mentally and emotionally this can be very beneficial for you.
