Hiding In The Shadows of Your Soul?

Do we show our true selves to others?

Have you ever felt fake?

Have you ever felt like you were trying to be everything for everybody, and in the process, you lost yourself? Your Dreams and Goals were traded for someone elses.

Maybe one day, you woke up and realized that you didn't even know who you were anymore. Wearing a mask for many years and not even knowing it. So busy trying to please others and trying to meet up to their expectations. You've forgotten what your life was really about.

No one bothered to ask you, what you wanted or what your choices were.

Reality now hits, you step back and re-evaluate your life. Did your life really happen the way it did, was it a dream or a reality. Do you have any feelings anymore, or do you feel like you are being fake?

Looking back to what your original dreams and goals were? Have you even come close to accomplishing those young dreams of your life? Was the life you've been living, someone elses?

I know my original dreams for my life, were like a fairy tale. Many challenges and struggles came prior to some of those dreams being fulfilled. I guess I watched to many movies growing up, that were from the make believe world. School did not teach me about the hard knocks I would face. The above did ring true for the reality of my life, but enough about me.

Do you know what your choices would be, if you could make them freely? Can you find yourself again, and look at some new dreams?

Find a new path to walk! Think about what you love to do....that brings back the spirit of living. Accomplishments that would bring joy to your soul?

Let's do it.....Let's get a piece of paper and pen out! Ponder about what you want to do with this time you have left to live! Even pray about what God might have in plan for you? (If He is on your side...what He has planned for you, is far above what we could ever imagine or ask.)

OK, write down what comes to mind....even something that might not seem realistic. Don't rule out those things that seem totally unreachable, write them down anyway. There may be some things that seem intangible for you, but are of great importance to you, write it down too. Now prioritize your list.

It is amazing what can happen just by writing things down. The process of writing, seeing it down on paper, and even voicing it to yourself. This is putting your list into your subconscious, as a need to get checked off.

Find some positive affirmations, sentences, even a verse! Make a banner, write it out on some 3 x 5 cards, just get them up so you can see them. You can prepare yourself for when a negative thought, or person comes into your path. You will already have a visual picture word, accessible for your recall to cancel all negative comments.

You can now move forward towards your God given dreams and goals with outside help if you choose? A life of reality and not plasticity:)

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" Philippians 2:6

"That He would grant you, according to the riches of His Glory, to be Strengthened with Might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your ♥ hearts ♥ by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love." Ephesians 3:16-17

"The Lord is My Strength and My Shield; My ♥ Heart Trusted in Him, and I am Helped: therefore My ♥ Heart Greatly Rejoiceth; and with My Song Will I Praise Him. Psalm 28:7

I am finally living my true life but yes there were times when I could not find me, everyone was telling me what to do, what my profession should be, etc. I put my foot down, prayed and now because of your hub I will put it on paper. This hub is a blessing to those who take the time to read it. Very meaningful, truly honest! Great read! Thumbs up!

OOOOhhhh, girl, this is good! You bet I threw away my mask! Problem is, I still run into "masqueraders" who fool me! Love the way you express this. It's so easy to understand. Excellent resource too.

Great question to ask oneself. "Can you find yourself again, and look at some new dreams?"

The journey of self discovery is amazing.

Keep seeking - and keep sharing! Nice Hub!
