Rajinder serendipitously discovered an Ayurvedic medicine while endeavoring to assist his wife in conquering her struggle with PCOS.

PCOD in a 25-year-old unmarried girl

I am 25, unmarried, suffering with polycystic ovaries, low platelet count and heavy and frequent menstrual bleeding. I am taking Patanjali medicine, which includes patrangasava, ashokarishta, giloy ghanvati, Kanchnar guggul, stri rasayan vati and a mixture of sphatika bhasma, muktashukti bhasma, swarna makshik bhasma, keharwa pishti and kamdudha ras.

For the first 3 months when I was taking patrangasava, ashokarishta and kanchnar guggul and the mixture as mentioned above, I had normal bleeding and my menstrual cycle was of 20--22 days. Since the last 2 weeks, I have started stri rasayan vati to regularize my periods and increase the number of days of menstrual cycle. I have also started giloy ghanvati to increase my platelet count, but now I have abnormal bleeding. It is heavy with large clots for 4--5 days.

Please suggest what to do in this case? Do I need to add some ayurvedic medicine along with this or to cut back some of the medicines that are mentioned above? Please help as I am really worried about this.

Treatment for PCOD, Explained in Detail

First of all, I wish you happiness and strength. Don’t worry, as everything heals with time and your PCOD problem will also get treated and that’s for sure. After going through your question, the problem in your case is excessive Ayurvedic medicine. Also, I am not sure what dosage you have been taking. Please mark my words that without any worthwhile goal you would not be able to reach anywhere in terms of treating PCOD. Your goal should be to increase your platelet count and maintain normal bleeding during your menstrual cycles. Also you did not reveal anything about your height to weight ratio. Anyways, as per my advice you should start Himalaya Evecare syrup three times per day for 1 month, then two times per day for 2 months and then one time per for 9 months. It is available at all local pharmacies in India and if you are outside India, you can buy it online from this page. With this, your periods will start regulating in the first month and then you will be able to maintain normal bleeding during menstrual cycles.

Treatment continued....

Besides this, you need to maintain a healthy, cheerful and positive outlook in life. Stop eating spicy and canned food. Start eating fresh organic food. Increase your daily consumption of fiber. If you are overweight, you need to reduce your weight by being more active during the day. You can also start an exercise regimen at home using YouTube videos or join regular gym or yoga classes.

The above tips will help you in maintaining PCOD throughout your life. Also regular menstrual cycles will help you in conceiving easily after marriage as infertility is a great concern for most of the married women having PCOD. I wish you good luck. It will be a matter of time before you will be back to normal.
