Pregnancy - IVF A Male Perspective
Many people have many opinions on whether you should or shouldn't be offered IVF on the NHS in the UK.
Speaking as someone who, without this free service, may not be able to have a child one day with the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, I may be slightly biased, but in my opinion, to stop this free service, would be catastrophic.
To go through one cycle of IVF in the UK cost's around £1500, as you are not guaranteed success, it could prove to be very costly. Now, before you say anything, I know you can't put a price on having a child, and the joy of parenting is priceless, but, to find this kind of money, 2, 3 or even 4 times just isn't possible for most people.
I am not sure how it works in the United States, I would welcome your comments on this, but here in the UK, you get either 2 or 3 free cycles, and if you are not successful after this, then you you would have to start funding this yourself.
It is a strange feeling to think you may never be a father, I know some men may go out and find someone else to have a child with, but for me and thousand's like me, that is not an option, we are one woman guys.
So there you have it, I hope for my first attempt at this, that I have opened up, what is for me, an interesting subject and would welcome any and all opinions, whether you are on the side of free IVF treatment or against.
