Back to Basics
Some report no relief after multiple trips to the dermatologist. Creams, lotions and sprays intended to help at times may not.
While expensive, some have found relief from light box therapy. I find it astounding how people will pay thousands for tickets to a game or show but decide to be frugal when it comes to their own health. That rant will be shoved down for now. If the treatment offers relief, it would appear no cost is too much.
One case study reports the elimination of eczema by utilizing Selsum Blue shampoo over the affected area. This is not common though and used more often to treat rosacea, as the active ingredient selenium sulfide is thought to control the demodex skin mite population, which is responsible for the inflammation associated ith rosacea.
While eczema can be frustrating, it need not be dehabilitating. With a minor change or two in your life, you and/ or your loved one(s) can live a healthy, happy, eczema free life.

Getting to the Root of the Problem
Eczema is not a skin condition of random and unknown origin. An underlying cause should be sought out. Some individuals appear to have a selenium deficiency while it is found others have an allergy to a substance ingested such as milk and products containing dairy. There are simple tests that your physician can run to identify an underlying cause for an appropriate treatment.
Kids who get eczema often have family members with hay fever, asthma, or other allergies. Eczema is not an allergy itself, but allergies can trigger it. Some environmental factors (such as excessive heat or emotional stress) also can trigger the condition (http://kidshealth.org/en/parents/eczema-atopic-dermatitis.html).
