Quotes of a Master X

Updated on March 31, 2015

Life is not long, it is short!

I say to you, look at me, I did it wrong, now are you free?

A child is a mirror of his parents.

This I know: do unto others as you would have them do unto you, but not roses to a child.

My life is a perfect life, I know, I live it.

God is perfect, or maybe not.

A short break after a hard hike is better than a long break after an easy one.

Sometimes the best thing is just to keep on trudging. Other times it is best to stop and smell the flowers.
Sometimes the best thing is just to keep on trudging. Other times it is best to stop and smell the flowers. | Source

I wait, do you?

I like when darkness falls for it is a time of rest. Have you done your best?

Pain is a reminder. That is all.

Achievement is about mastering your goals. Mastering is about others goals.

I am not wise, thank God.

I can beat you or die trying, that you could never take from me.

Peace be upon you

Have you ever given up, just in order to love

See results

What is peace?

I can protect you, if you let me.

Live, love and lose.

Hold it in your hand and lose it forever, hold it in your open palm and keep it forever.

Deliver us from evil but never let those who are evil be delivered be delivered to us..

Love with grace and Grace with Love.

Those who say they lost love, forgot to give it.

Sometimes things look close enough to touch yet they are far far away.

If a view is beautiful take the time to enjoy it, for we spend too much time with views we do not enjoy.

Peace and Love

The more you give the more you receive.

The more you want the less satisfied you are.

As with love, the further away you are from God the more He loves you.

Being receptive of love, is a huge gift to give a lover.

Peace is so resilient that it can survive after a war.

Peace is not so much a prize as a way of life.

When there is peace inside and outside there is harmony.

It is not so much that we should give peace a chance as that we should give any alternative no chance.

Stay and stand still.

One time a great trial attorney stood up with so much to say and said; I have nothing to say.

One time a great wife came home to find a house in disarray, a husband and child asleep and said nothing.

One time my mother said I was ruining things and I said nothing.

One time my son said I love you dad, and I said nothing.

One time the answer to the question was wrong, and I said nothing.

One time the whole earth stood still and said nothing.

When I open my mouth and speak it is me speaking, maybe I am not the one I should be listening to.

More than once I have listened to the silence and heard a great deal.

What would happen if once instead of telling or thinking of what to say, I just listened.

I love to sing along, but sometimes the music sounds better without my contribution.

When I am lectured to, I only pretend to listen, when I am spoken with I actually hear.

How about you?

Have you ever heard the silence?

What a splendid concept this is -- plus it is a really good song.

What is he pointing at me for?

OK I admit it, I made silly faces to get him to look at the camera.

Given choices

I choose not to associate with people I really do not like, even if I love them.

I choose to eat what I want. It has taken a lifetime to want what I need.

My wife chooses to be the boss, that does not mean I choose to be the employee.

Sometimes I do not want to be chosen.

Sometimes life chooses you, go with it, it was probably the right choice.

If you think you must choose between friends, rethink that.

If you ever wondered about choosing faithfulness I hope you did.

Somehow a bee chooses which flower to pollinate, I hope you choose wisely.

Right and wrong.

I have made some wrong decisions that turned out right, and I have made some right decisions that turned out wrong.

If someone tells you what is right instead of explaining it to you, are they doing right by you.

I have been wronged by the right people and righted by the wrong people.

Sometimes a child does what is right instinctively, why do adults have to mess with that.

I once saw a clear case of right and wrong and they both worked out just fine.

I once saw a clear case of right and wrong and they both ended in disaster.

Why is it that authorities can so often tell you what is right and wrong and so seldom are they able to explain why.

If we are told what is right and wrong do we ever really learn it.

Good judgment results from experience which usually comes from the wrong decisions.

I once heard a whole sermon on what is right and what is wrong and it just wasn't right.

Most of these kinds of notices are just full of malarky, so I thought I would make it obvious.

      Stop the Hub presses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are an insanely quotable man Sir Eric.

And this hub seminar of legendary words will be immediately bookmarked and etched inside of my mind for future reference when I want to quote a great man like yourself.

I just heard a rooster crow and the sky is turning that wonderful shade just before the dawn of a new and glorious day out here in the coastal desert of the US.

But for me the sun has already risen, thanks to a great friend on the great lake. Oh how I cherish our friendship and how it brightens the day even before the sleepy old sun is up.

Thank you Colin and Tiffy and Gabriel. My Gabriel is sleeping the morning away!

I'm not certain whether this is a poem, a piece of prose, or a prayer. It's very well written though and full of great wisdom and quotable sayings.

      Thanks Eric.

Christopheranton, you obviously have not heard of poetry in prose. On the other hand, I, for one, have never heard of "from my provoked to your provoked" until I visit this hub, LOL.

    • shanmarie profile image

Hahaha. Well, I generally don't laugh at people....um, most people. . . but I am an easy target to be laughed at quite often and I do enjoy laughing with people.

But, I'll leave the rash with you. haha. Maybe WalterPoon will do the same. Laugher is a much better infection.

And so damn contagious, that laughter is. I sneeze when someone else sneezes, I cry when they cry, and I love to laugh when they do. So I smile and so do they. Shanmarie, you are a breath of fresh air in my polluted life.

I just loved this piece and encourage others to love it also, by a great lady:

What a gracious thing to say, my friend. :) Try not to sneeze when other do, though. Talk about contagious. haha And how could you have such a polluted life with a lovely wife and escape artist kiddos?

My dear all my hubs come out X-rated. It is by grace, I clean them up and am allowed to publish.

The boy mastered unlatching the seatbelt this week. And then he figured out how to lock the bathroom door. There is trouble here in paradise.

Shanmarie as your great hubs remind us, it is we that pollute our lives with worry, angst and expectations.

Like your latest question : http://shanmarie.hubpages.com/question/223012/does...

It bothers me. Because of me, not because of you.

    • shanmarie profile image

Shannon 3 years ago from Texas

Now you're suddenly all profoundish. Kinda Yodaish. That question is because it bugs the snot outta me. Good to know I'm not the only one it bothers.

Eh, seatbelts aren't that bad. Well, maybe. My daughter waved to a cop one time. I think it was her anyway. One of our kids got loose enough to lean out the window a bit and wave, so my hubby says.

Locked bathroom doors are also bad when they get stuck that way. This I know.

But, kids are kids only once so enjoy it mostly. This I say as I am cleaning up a sticky floor because my children decided to eat cucumbers with caramel sauce.

Eric Dierker 3 years ago from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A.

Wow!!! Cucumbers with Caramel Sauce?! Send them over. Give hubby a hug for me. My children already think he is cool to rule.

I got a little angry when the favorite toy went out the window and down the highway. But my son reminded me, "that was your favorite toy."

Perhaps we are as blessed as Epi with his cats.

    • shanmarie profile image

Shannon 3 years ago from Texas

Yes, cucumbers and caramel sauce - which, I might add, was not as disgusting as I thought it would be. I got curious enough to try it. hehe

Perhaps. It's a good thing I have kids or I might become known as "the cat lady" because I'd collect them. 'Always had 5 or 6 growing up - indoor, too. Now, we're down to more or less just two.

Wonderful and your love of life comes through your writing. I am weak but my children make me strong. I hope for you all the strength in the world.

Cucumbers and caramel. yuk! I will do it and freeze it. Oh boyo.

    • shanmarie profile image

Shannon 3 years ago from Texas

Haha! All I really tasted was the caramel. If your children make you stronger, that's wonderful. I suppose strength is just sheer stubbornness and God, of course.

Lemme know whatcha think of those frozen carameled cucumbers. haha
