Types of Artificial Teeth

Artificial teeth are very important as they can be used even before the entire teeth falls out leaving the mouth empty. The large empty spaces formed by the falling off of even a single tooth can cause the drifting and falling of other teeth. Hence single replacement artificial teeth have now become quite common. The artificial teeth can be classified into three main parts. They are dentures, bridges and implants. Earlier dentures were the most common among artificial teeth, but bridges and implants are the latest inventions.

Dentures: This type of artificial teeth is usually attached using a metal or plastic base. Temporary, partial and full varieties of dentures are available. Temporary dentures as its name implies is used temporarily as an initial step to using full dentures. It is used during the time of healing of the jaw. Partial dentures are used when a single teeth falls out. It is fixed in place using metal hooks. When all the teeth either in the top or bottom row of the mouth are gone, full dentures are used. They are complete sets of teeth.

Dentures have to be used with great care. Some people may find it very difficult to adjust with dentures. In order to ensure proper oral health they have to be removed at night and cleaned regularly. Well fitted dentures won’t cause any pain in the gums. Most of the people get used to dentures within a week or two. Though some difficulties have to be faced while using dentures, they can make you look better and also improve your ability to chew food.

Bridges: It’s a kind of artificial teeth that is used when one or two teeth fall off. It is known by the name as they restore missing teeth by bridging the space between the adjacent teeth. They are attached to the adjacent teeth directly using crowns. They are non removable teeth that are usually made using metal or porcelain. Moreover they are cemented in place and hence cannot be removed. Unlike the dentures patients need not remove them out of place and clean them separately.

Implants: Implant which is looked upon as the ultimate in artificial teeth are found to be more permanent than bridges. It can be used to replace one or more or all the teeth in the mouth. They are used to fix artificial teeth to the underlying jawbone and hence closely resemble the natural dentition.

An artificial tooth is held directly by means of a metal rod. It is usually made of titanium which is comfortably accepted by our body. It doesn’t require a dental plate or crown. They can be used up to 20 years. It is fixed through a surgical procedure.

BPS Technology

All the problems of teeth can be overcome to a limit with the help the new technology called BPS. BPS is the new technology to reduce the limitations of the ordinary artificial teeth. BPS is the abbreviation for ‘FUNCTIONAL PROSTHETIC SYSTEM’. BPS should be done by a BPS specialist since it needs keen measurement of teeth, position of teeth, and measurement of gum is taken in the proper way with the help of required instruments.

BPS Teeth

The main problem with those who use ordinary tooth is the pain and motion of these artificial teeth. But we could solve this problem by using BPS teeth.

Since the use of BPS there won’t be any change in the shape of face and will increase the beauty. Even gaps between the teeth could be maintained by this technology which gives a perfect and natural look.

Since we could make the junction between the teeth and gum with the spots, it looks natural and is very difficult to recognize the original and BPS teeth. Also we could make the mouth and gum look natural and it won’t make us feel artificial. Each tooth is situated by finding the position of bones which will help us to maintain the natural shape of the face.

Since BPS involve many steps which make it expensive, the cost ranges between 1000$ and 3000$. If it is fixed one time, it will be there for a long time.
