Irritable behavior shows in your character

I discovered the reasons for some people who can throw out their attitude at others, In my case, I felt concerned when I noticed the behaviors of a few individuals.

I became aware of their behaviors, and for the reasons of their behaviors.

When an individual is irritable they lash out, or feel rejected in some ways.

They feel anger toward others, and that is not in a rational way.

I have been in the company of people with irritable behaviors, and have observed their irrational behaviors it has taught me more about such people.

These people don't how to avoid such behaviors.

  • What can cause Irritable behaviors in people?

I have noticed a well-spoken individual change their behavior after alcohol consumption.

I was surprised by that type of behavior.

I heard of people who can become annoying after too many alcoholic drinks, but had not experienced, or seen their irritable behavior until my recent experience.

We were sitting down to a meal, and he came along to join us at our table.

He started insulting other people, and shouting out aloud unnecessary conversations.

The whole evening was ruined by that individual's irritable behavior.

You never know until you experience the inappropriate behaviors of certain individuals.

There you have it!

Alcohol is one of the influences on irritable behaviors in certain individuals.

The other problem with the individual, once he stopped the alcohol intake the effects can be most irregular with a withdrawal kind of behavior making one feel again, most irritable.

Whether, or not the individual consumes alcohol their irritable behaviors still shows in public places, or at home.

  • What is another cause of irritable behaviors?

When you have issues with your bowels that too can make you feel irritable.

Going to the toilet becomes a problem with anxiety.

To avoid such irritable problems, stick to a healthy diet and include a high-fiber diet in your daily menus.

  • What causes Irritable behaviors?

Depression can make you feel down in many ways.

The mood swings can take you to another place. Any simple daily activity can make one feel completely drained of their energy.

Pregnancy also affects a normal being.

  • PMS

Premenstrual Syndrome often gets me down and I feel irritable.

It is my worst time of the month and at times just can't hold myself together.

My mood swings corrupts my simple conversations.

I lash out and feel sad. It is hard to cope at that time of the month.

I listen to good music and go out for daily walks to cope with my few days of misery.

It is the only time of the month that I would have aches and pains and I feel so not myself.

When I have a tension headache, I become uncomfortable and feel like being left alone. Not everyone understands what I am going through at that time.

Certain foods can trigger tension headaches, if not the loads of work you have for the day.

I noticed that when I eat a strong flavored cheese my head starts to ache.

If I eat a certain kind of chocolate, like milk chocolate, I feel a neck ache.

I try to avoid such snacks.

A tension headache makes me feel irritable and not so focused.

A few years ago on one very hot summer's day, I was out shopping and had to walk around for while in the blistering heat.

I felt very hot and did not pay much attention to the my feelings.

When I got back home I was tired and did not feel very good.

I lied down and fell asleep on the sofa for two hours and felt completely tired and irritable.

The unusual heat made me feel most irritable, I was at that time still adjusting to my new climate in Croatia.

The different seasons can have an effect on your moods if you are not adapted to such climates.

During the winter in Croatia I had many colds and flu and had to pass through all those bad times with hot soups and hot teas.

Going to the doctor was senseless to me.

Over time I adjusted fairly well here with climate and socially.

The summer is far too hot for me and the winter is far too cold.

I used to feel down in the winter after careful thought. I keep busy with writing and reading.

I watched movies and often plan my days to make sure I don't feel depressed or bored.

I can become irritable when I don't have much to do on short and cold days.

  • What makes you feel irritable?

People feel irritable if they fail on a project it is normal to be that way but irritability can be a problem if irritability stays with you.

  • For example:

He has the symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress, and I had no idea of that kind behavior. I met him and saw how he behaved in front of guests.

One day, while preparing for a barbecue we invited him to us for a quick drink not knowing how he would react afterward.

After consuming a few beers he got red in the face argumentative and irritable, his mood swings surprised me and that had happened more than one time.

It is difficult to cope with such behaviors, mostly if you don't understand that kind of behavior.

I avoid boredom with watching good movies and find myself getting better in my own ways.

Anyone can experience irritability the problem lies with you not paying attention to the symptoms.

Sometimes the individual would require counseling from the withdrawal of drugs or alcohol, or has some type of disorder which can show irritable behavior over time.

Nervous disorders to fear can make one fell irritable.

Irritability is caused by minor illnesses and major illnesses you just got be aware of what is making you feel that way.

Mood changes and communication can also make you feel bothered.

  • Have you ever felt irritable with someone you failed in communication?

Daily activities can make you feel irritable in a normal way.

A fever or fatigue can make feel full with life itself.

Irritability shows when you have had enough of conversations, and can't afford to take any more of what is actually going on.

Everything gets too much to cope with in your daily life activities.

Anxiety, fear, depression, anemia, diseases like Alzheimer’s, or Parkinson,. The withdrawal from addictions, Autism, disorders such as Bipolar, also diabetes, and eczema can make you irritable.

Constipation makes you feel tired and less energetic causing irritability.

When you are hungry and have sleepless nights you can feel down and very tired that is when irritability sets in.

A problem with thyroid glands to a stressful day and from an over worked day you can become irritable and moody.

What irritates people may not always be dealt with properly, if you know what caused you to feel that way solving the problem can be much easier.

When you see an individual rubbing their head or hair on certain occasions that can also show irritability.

It shows a person's behavior more when you feel feared by certain approaches in life.

A failure to get up and move on can put many thoughts in your head keeping you to figure out what you want to do with your life.

Doubt can make you feel irritable if you don’t know what more to say to the other person.

There comes a time when you have to stop and take a break from everything and to relax.

  • Don't ignore the reoccurring symptoms of irritability.

People behave different, it is your choice of how you cope with such challenges.

As you pointed out, certain foods can make you feel worse. It helps when people can make a note of what behaviors, food or environmental changes make them irritable. You have a good guide here.

Enlightening post. I think these days, Finance causes a lot of irritability. Some partners take it out on others and sometimes shout at their kids, but they don't really mean too.

Very useful and interesting. There is always the person who is a bummer in a group, and now with your hub, I know it is a good idea to try to observe the person to understand him or her better. It forces you to become a bigger person, because the first instinct is to just ignore the person. Ah, life.

Thanks for describing many causes of irritable behavior, Devika. Sometimes people can stop themselves from exhibiting this type of behavior, but as you've shown, this is hard to do when a person is ill!

I try to give irritable people their space. Sometimes grumpy just needs to figure it out him or herself before they rejoin the group, and that's okay. They just don't need to ruin my day. However, I'm more than happy to discuss calmly.

Great Hub DDD. So many people with irritability. However, we tend to look past the underlying reasons for irritability and judge people based on their behaviors.

When we communicate with people who are irritable it is so important to try to understand them and just react to what they say. Thanks for sharing DDE.

Colon cancer is a number one killer of men. If that constipation is causing the irritability, they should pay close attention.

I find multiple distractions when I need to focus the most irritating.

      Great hub

As usual, you have taken common feelings and broken them down to their basic elements, and helped us to see the causes and how to handle it...well done.

When I was growing up, my mother used to joke that my father was irritable because he was constipated. We would laugh at it but as we got older we saw in our own lives, spouses and children that indeed constipation does cause irritability. Your hub validated that! lol
