Relaxation technique

I have been dealing with a lot of recent life and relationship changes over the last few months, and therefore have not felt like hubbing, instead trying to reacquaint myself with myself. During this time, I have reflected back on the methods I used to use to cope with each days issues, big or small. The following is one of those methods, something very simple, but with practice, will surprise you:

1. Take a deep breath through your nose. As you breath in, notice your shoulders raising, your chest expanding, and your chin and upper body filling and lifting.

2. Hold the breath briefly, while saying to yourself, "The weight of the world is not on my shoulders." Literally envision a small planet Earth on each shoulder.

3. Exhale quickly through your mouth, consciously dropping your shoulders and deflating your chest, but keeping your chin level. Imagine those Earths rolling off your shoulders as you drop them.

4. Repeat as necessary. Eventually you should have a wow moment, where your shoulder drop happens easily, and you actually see the "world" rolling off your shoulders. Holding your chin level gives you a feeling of holding your head high, and therefore adds confidence and positivity to the process.

I practice this often now, and am still surprised how something so simple could hold so much power. Hopefully it works for others as well as it has worked for me. Positive thinking at its finest.
