Drinking RockStar Energy Drinks-What are the dangers with Rock Star energy drinks

Updated on January 26, 2014

I love Rockstar Energy Drinks

For years I have been drinking Rockstar Energy Drinks. I must have atleast one everyday but no more than two. Drinking two cans of Rockstar is about the same as drinking two to three cups of coffee. The energy drink was created in 2001, based in Las Vegas, there logo is "Party like a Rockstar". In 2009 it was one of the most popular energy drinks by sales. At first I was fond of Redbull but when I found Rockstar which I believe tastes simular and is in a 16 ounce can instead of an 8 ounce can and almost half the price at $1.50 a can in my area, I was hooked when I first drank a can of Rockstar. I work in a nursing home and I am a mother of three children so I am constantly needing a pick me up and the drink works very well.

The Energy drink is available in 14 different flavors and they also have Rockstar Energy shots in two different flavors. The only one I buy is the regular one in the black can. I have tryed a couple of the others and its just not as good to me. The Energy drink contains caffeine, sugar and herbs such as panax ginseng, ginko biloba, milk thistle extract and guarana seed. Rockstar also contains taurine and the drink glows when placed near ultra-violet light. It tastes the best when chilled. A full can of Rockstar contains 160 mg of caffeine. Caffeine is known to stimulate the central nervous system providing alertness. Some people experience side affects such as sleeplessness, headaches, or the jitters but I do not. Taurine is naturally produced in the body and it is an amino acid. Usually ones body produces enouph that we dont need a supplement but I believe the drink levels me out.

A Rockstar gift from my daughter

During the school year my daughter brought me come a gift. She had made a Rockstar mouse pad. Its was very nice of her. She knows how much her mother loves those energy drinks. It also has my name on it and a picture of Marlyn Monroe. She also bought me a Rockstar sweatshirts which is available at Amazon.
