The Sacred Heart Soup Diet is a fad soup-based diet that has been around for many years. The link to either the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital in Florida. or the hospital with the same name in Montreal Canada, is almost certainly a myth, though this link is often claimed to give the diet some authority.

This diet has also been known by other names such as the 'Cleveland Clinic Diet', 'Spokane Heart Diet', the 'Miami Heart Institute Diet' and the 'Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet'. It is very similar the 'cabbage soup diet' and is generally used to lose a lot of weight in a short period of time, such as 7 days.

Some people have claimed that they have lost 10-17 pounds in a week using this diet. Most of the weight lost will probably be water, nevertheless it is very popular. The diet is unsustainable and there is nothing magical about the foods eaten. The reduction in calories by replacing meals with lots of soup, fruit and vegetables produces the weight loss, and there is nothing more to it than that.

The 7 Day Soup Diet Plan
