Schwinn 840 Treadmill Review

Updated on November 11, 2012

My Background

Don't buy the Schwinn 840 treadmill until you read this! If you are reading this, you are probably considering buying the Schwinn 840 treadmill. I like to stay in shape, and I am sure that you feel the same way. Of course, I cannot always make it outside to run because of the weather and such, and I need a way to exercise myself during those long winter months.

I had an old treadmill that I used until very recently, when it finally kicked the bucket. I was stuck without a treadmill, and I knew that I had better find one soon. I looked all over the place for one, since I personally would be using the treadmill for a long time, and I wanted to make sure that I would be happy with my purchasing decision. I checked out several different models of treadmills by several different companies, but I was not completely satisfied with many of the treadmills that I checked out.

I was determined to find the treadmill that was right for me, so I certainly didn't give up on finding one. I wasn't going to stop looking until I found one that I knew I would be totally satisfied with. After looking both online and at several stores, I came across the Schwinn 840 treadmill. I figured that there might actually be something to this particular model of treadmill, so I made sure to read several reviews of it, and I liked what I read. I also tested out a model myself, and I found the Schwinn 840 to be very satisfactory in doing the things that I wanted for it to do.

What I like about the Schwinn 840 treadmill

One of the first things that I noticed about the Schwinn 840 treadmill is how smooth it is to walk on it. The Schwinn 840 treadmill is advertised as having a "Softrak suspension deck" that will reduce the impact that is made on your joints as you walk or run. I do not know exactly what sort of technology the "Softrak suspension deck" involves, but I will say that I felt a noticeable difference between the way that this treadmill feels when I run on it versus the way that my old treadmill felt when I ran on it. With my old treadmill, my knees would sometimes ache after a vigorous workout session, and I would often have to miss my next workout from fear of doing further damage to my knees and legs.

I do not have this particular problem with the Schwinn 840. I have not had any knee pain or joint pain while using it, and that has been a tremendous relief for me, because I know that I do not have to dread the way that my joints will feel once I finish running. This has allowed me to work out much more consistently than I would have if I bought a treadmill that hurt my joints, and I have seen far better results because I have been able to run much more often than before.

Another thing that I like about the Schwinn treadmill is the fact that it folds up when not in use. With my old treadmill, I would have to move everything else in my house around just to make room for my treadmill. With my Schwinn, I can simply fold it up when it is not is use. This has really been a space saver for me.

The Schwinn 840 treadmill is highly adjustable in terms of what you can get it to do. You can adjust the running speed from anywhere between .5 and 10 miles per hour. This means that if you are elderly, or just beginning to work out, you can set the treadmill to your level, and work out without the stress and strain that can come with lesser treadmills.

On the other hand, if you are at a more advanced level when it comes to working out, then you can set the treadmill to 10 miles per hour and really give yourself a run for your money (no pun intended!). This wide range in running speed really makes the 840 versatile, which was one of its main selling points for me, and one of the reasons that I bought this treadmill over any of the others that I looked at in my search for a suitable treadmill.

There are 16 different workout programs that come with the Schwinn 840 treadmill, so you will really get your money's worth in that regard. You can also program your own custom workouts, so even if you do not find the perfect program on the Schwinn, which is unlikely, you can still create your own.

Your Experience With The Schwinn 840 Treadmill

I am a fairly avid workout enthusiast, and I have had a wonderful experience with the Schwinn treadmill. Will your experience be the same as mine? I cannot say, but I believe that it will. There are very few people that would not benefit from this treadmill, and I would recommend that you buy it immediately.

When you buy the Schwinn 840, your workout experience and benefits will skyrocket, and you will certainly be much happier with the results that you are seeing in your workout. And if you are looking to get into a workout program, I would recommend this treadmill because I can really walk you through what needs to be done.

All in all, I have had a wonderful experience with my Schwinn treadmill, and I do not regret purchasing it for one second. There are many benefits to be had from the Schwinn treadmill, and I recommend that you buy one immediately. I have included a link to amazon below so that you can buy the Schwinn 840 treadmill immediately, and start benefiting from it right away. I wish you the best success in your workout routine.

Hi Nitin, thanks for stopping by!

As far as the specifications for what you need, the 840 can definitely keep up with what you are planning to do with it.

I am about the same height and weight as you, and I find it to be a great fit for me.

      I hope that this helps!
