Setting Yourself Free

Updated on February 11, 2011

This is how I feel...

You know, I have quite an interesting background when it comes to being around different types of people. I grew up in a small town where everyone knew everyone and they just sometimes too things too far. I got bullied quite a bit in middle school. People would call me gay or a fagot and that would really upset me. It was not until I got into high school that I decided that those people were not worth my time. I also came to the realization that I was doing the absolute best that I could and if that was not good enough for "them" then that is just too bad.

And so I let things go and that was a MAJOR turning point for me. If there is one thing I wish I could teach at the middle school and high school level it would be that you should be happy with who you are and what you stand for. Never waver in your personal beliefs or who you feel you are deep down inside. It can be upsetting at times and especially when your friends or family members tease you for being a little different. Perhaps they think you are too fat, too skinny, you act "gay", or you are just a waste of time. Whatever that might be you have to let that go because the truth is you are better than that and you have so much potiencial as a human being.

You have so much love to give and you have to just let that go and quit letting people put a label on you. This is really important and I wish that more kids knew this. If they did we would have a drop in bullying, a drop in suicide, and ever other bad thing. Instead we would have a rise in self-esteem, more pride in ourselves, and more goals would be reached because we did not forget who we are and we did not give up not matter who was trying to tear us down.

Sometimes you just have to let go.  You have to tell yourself that you are doing the best you can and that you are a great individual.  Put up a protective barrier!  Remember, once this is up nothing can get by it.  Your "friends" and classmates will be more and more intimidated and will not try to mess with you.

You see...this is the secret.  When people bully you, what they really want is a reaction from you.  They want you to get upset, but you can not and must NOT give them that satisfaction.  For whatever reason, and that reason is so unclear to me people feel the need to draw negative attention to themselves and to try and put themselves higher then another person.  Of course, they really have not been taught well to just accept everyone for who they are.  Instead, they seek to get attention and to make themselves "popular".

If you let them phase you they will keep coming back, but the moment you put that barrier up and say "I don't give a damn what you think."  THAT is when everything will start to turn around for you.  That is what happened to me.

Of course, I needed maturing on my part.  Believe it or not I was somewhat immature to let people walk all over me like that and for also planting those thoughts that they were doing that to me in the first place.  What I mean by that is what you think is what is happening.  If you think you are getting bullied then you are going to get bullied.  If you think you don't want to get bullied then you are going to get bullied.  This is all about the law of attraction and you should know that your thoughts attract those things into your life.

Remember to change the way you think to a postive frequency and frequently praise yourself and those around you.  Be thankful and know that good things are going to come your way.  You will have the DESIRE and the knowledge to make it happen and to make you and those around you happy.  (Maybe you can even touch the hearts of some of those who once hurt you.)

Let me say that again...touch the hearts of some of those who ONCE hurt you.  You see what is happening, you are no longer being hurt because you are not thinking those thoughts.  You are concentrating on prosperity and love.  The positive is always be more powerful then the negative.

So stand up for where your heart is, and stand up for who you are.  Don't give up on your dreams because miracles are going to happen and you are going to fly!  Don't let anyone tell you otherwise because this is going to be an incredible life and you had better believe it!

Now, go and set yourself free.  There is no gay or straight or fat, or thin...there is only beautiful, strong, and powerful you!  You do whatever you want and you can accomplish anything your heart desires.  Feel that power work in you and go for it.  Never stop!  You will never fail because when one door closes and I promise you another will open and all your dreams will come true.  All you need is a little faith and confidence and anything can happen.

All the impossible becomes possible and all your dreams become living dreams.  Living dreams that will take you boldly to new heights and new adventures!  You can do it no matter who you are...each and every one of us has the potiential to be great, and guess what...that means you!

Again, you can do anything you set your mind to...and with a little imagination you will find all the happiness in the world!
