Some Nights I Just Can't Get to Sleep

Updated on July 2, 2017

Dark SkyLight-Electric Sleeplessness (Luka Nakashidze) c/o MuzzzNet

Just like that

It's just like that.  Thoughts rushing at you.  Running through your mind.  Even though the clock says, 'sleep,' you ignore the time.

Eventually, the body slows down. Thoughts are still runnin'.  Not scared, no fear, no need to shed a tear.  What nightmare?  Who has them?  Daylight is near.

The quiet is nice, the whole neighborhood's asleep, I guess.  The early birds sing again.  As you welcome in daylight, your infinite friend.

Nightmare on Elm Street Debut Movie Trailer [HD]c/o Machinima.com (Current)

Did I sleep?

Daylight took her needed break. And like a mother hen, she rose on schedule to keep watch over her many sleeping children.  Groggy now, it's a new day.  Can't sleep.  Won't sleep.  Awake, the night away.  Passed the dread.  Looked right through the walking dead.

Now I'm unaware.  Was I in too deep?  Or did I really drift to sleep?

Which do you think will be better?

I don't know what's up but I haven't been able to sleep either. 2 nights last week I was up until 3am. This is not good if you have to get up at 6:30am.

Love the horror films myself. Freddy, Jason and Michael were the 3 most scariest men during my teenage years. And what fun it was :)

you suggest one: Thanks for the visit and comments. You are right, your imagination can really scare you if you let it; don't let it, gain control over it. BTW, I love the calming of classical music. Have a good one!

I am beginning to realise that hub pages is populated with people like me,can't sleep, sometimes scared to sleep, movies never help, classical music does sometimes, but as you correctly say our body knows when the time is right, but still I prefer to write at night, far less interference, loved your

poems by the way, both descibe a perfect night for me,one more thing, movies are never as scary as ones own imagination.keep it going.

Lady_E, your comment made me laugh! Other than HP, I am currently working on other employment. I enjoy watching a good scary movie. The night I wrote this, I was not looking at any scary movies, but I really could not get to sleep and somehow this was thought up. It's now three days later and as I am sure you well know, my body let me know that sleep is necessary. I am well rested now, at least I think I am LOL!! Thanks for your concern. Although I lost some sleep time, I had a blast on HP! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I'm wondering what your work shifts are like - maybe that's got something to do with it. One thing I do know is that you don't want to be watching a scary movie. lol.

      Nice Bubble bath?

      Burning Essential Oils like Lavender?

      Glass of Bailey's.

Leaving soft/classical music playing very low in Background.

      Reading?

      Old movie?

      None of the above? lol

      Do, take it easy. Regards.
